My problem is that the leaves are always droopy. I have looked through lots of pictures, but none seem to look the same. Only about a week ago, they were droopy and were forming "claws." I determined it was probably N toxicity and so after flushing it stopped. Unfortunately the droopiness has not. Also, the way the leaves looks is a bit off. The texture is really rough and not smooth like the other pictures I've seen here. If you look at the pictures, you can see that each leaf looks like its covered with like ridges.

I was wondering if temperature and distance to the light are two separate issues? I.e., Can your plants be extremely close if the temp is okay or will it fuck up the plants just because it's too close?

Thanks... pictures below.

Maybe your rez is too full and they are over watered? I do hempy also but let the rez get just about dry before watering them again.

Over watering could definetly do it. could be curling toward the light, and for soil Im pretty sure you should have a 6-7 ph. but i don't think thats the problem anyway.

Hi Boneman,

Thanks for your advice. I don't think it's over-watering because that's been my problem since the start and I'm pretty stingy with feeding. My hempy buckets are just juice bottles that are wrapped with alum foil so I usually water by ear (so to speak) by peeling back the foil and making sure its pretty dry before feeding them again (typically I make sure there's no more free flowing liquid at in the reservoir).

I have a new idea that it's due to too much water loss. Can a fan blowing directly on the plant cause too much transpiration of moisture? I've turned off my fan for the day and will report back tomorrow. Many thanks!

Okay, so I'm pretty sure that the cause of the wilting was the fan. I think the fan blowing directly on the plants was just drawing off too much moisture. The wilting I described above did not look like wilting from underwatering, which is what made me think of over transpiration. In the couple of days I have the fan blowing next to the plants, they seem to have really perked up!

Now on to my last problem... the texture of the leaves. Can anyone help me figure out what is causing the leaves to look so rough and "ridgey"? Instead of the smooth leaves I see on grow logs here, my leaves are very pale and the veins on the leaves are like little valleys. From the pictures above, you can really see that the veins are very deeply set compared to the "skin" in between the veins. No FAQs I have checked out seem to have that problem. Any pros here have a clue? Throw me a bone, please!

Many Thanks!
