ok. i am an out door grower and i brought my plants indoors for the cold snap that came recently. they are little seedlings. they are not doing to well for the most part. there was a "drought"(i forgot to water em b4 school one day). some died and all showed signs of weakness. then they recovered ok. i watered em well and stuff. some of their leaves are slowly yellowing or turning brown. they are in small egg carton containers. they have good soil with vermiculite and perlite. the soil has a .05 .05 .05 time release fertilizer (dont think this is it cuz a few are thriving?) i dont overwater i dont think. the pH is good. they have sufficient lighting and a temp around 81 degrees. any thoughts to what else could be wrong? its not bugs and its not root rot and they are not too close to light i dont think. i did hand comfort zone, light test. HELP!!!!!!!!

Well they could be going into shock or you be giving to many nutrients. How much are you giving them?

they are not in shock from transplant. they were fine. then they got droopy. then they perked up some then they started yellowing a bit. i am giving no nutes. i did give em some rooting hormone and fungacide mix, but that was after the fact. adn it has not nutes in it.

how do u upload pics btw? i couldnt figure it out. i came up with one new proposal. maybe the fluoride in the tap water could be damaging them. i read it prevents uptake of water. like, maybe some are sensitive to it and others arent or something.

yeah pics would make easier to diagnose.

I would get out of the egg crates. At least put them in a cup.
Your problems sound like they is not enough soil and to much water.

As for tap water you want to fill a container (mason jar) and let sit out for a few days before you use it to water plants.
This will allow the water to evaporate unwanted chemicals like chlorine.
It also makes the water room temp.

I used str8 tap in a grow and it worked fine. I use it for my present house plants and they are fine. defineatly bigger pots! south side of the house is best.

One of the problems is that you shouldn't give ANY nutes to seedlings. You said "the soil has a .05 .05 .05 time release fertilizer".

They should be in larger containers.

Are you sure it's not bugs?

it has been determined my cat apparently likes my plants and enjoys pissing all over them. this just might be the problem
