of course we can't get along. we can be forced to appear to get along, but even that is only temporary. i thought everyone would have figured this out by now. somebody always wants what someone else has, there's always someone who feels their way of doing things is better than the other guy and then we have those folks who just like blowing shit out of proportion.

i really dont understand the bipartisan system. i mean we are supposed to live in a unified free country and the one system that controlls powers is riddled with people who think oppositely. one group wants to cure cancer while the other wants to ban practices that lead to finding cures (just one of many). we should find a common ground and stop all the one-sidedness \

The separation of powers in our system works perfectly. It's beautiful to watch the return to constitutional govt that is happening right before our eyes. I love this country.

is it really so difficult to understand that not everyone sees things in the same way? despite all the rhetoric to the contrary, no one wants to see people starving or enslaved to corporate or governmental masters. these things are merely possible outcomes of living in our free society. the greatest divide between our opposing political ideologies is how we should go about continuing with our society's advance, whether people must be forced to adhere to a certain way of life (the statist/progressive ideology) or whether people should be allowed to exercise their freedom of choice and determine their own path toward our society's advance (the more conservative viewpoint). unity does not mean that everyone has the same opinions or finds the same path appealing. we are united in the common cause of advancing our society, but we aren't even all in agreement as to what direction it should take.

the simplicity of saying that one group wants to cure cancer and the other doesn't is disingenuous at best. there are many ways to get to a goal and how you get there may be as important as reaching it. how you go about attaining those goals determines what sort of society you will have once you've reached that point and also determines where you will go from there. a society based on the use of violent force, the only tool at the government's disposal, as the means to an end would seem to be the least appealing of the possible options.

This is like the wallstreet protest. Out of 5 protesters they all have something different to protest. And divided they fall.
