CARBON FILTER NECESSARY???

I live in a legal state w my card.
i bought a carbon filter w my grow tent (3ftx3ftx5.5ft) I’m in veg so I don’t hve the filter hooked up right now plus it came a little later etc
Got the in-line fan hooked up pushing the air right back into my room simply because I don’t mind the smell, my room Has plenty indoor plants and I enjoy the soil/earthy plant smell.
do I REALLY need a carbon filter??? Idon’t have any space for it INSIDE the tent anyways

AND

would it be a good idea to just have the filter outside my tent for filtering the air intake instead ?

It's just there to absorb the smell. With passive air in through the tent flaps a duct fan sucking the hot air out is still required and for the best results an oscillating fan inside for air movement but if smell really isn't an issue you can loose the carbon filter.
I would highly recommend it though. If you ever have company over you'll be glad you did. My grow room with a carbon filter exhausts into the garage and in the midst of flowering the neighbors can smell it. Thank God I live in a legal state because my neighbor is a cop lol.
