hi is it normal for a carbon filter to stop working at 55% humidity

i have been noticing i can smell my plants though the carbon filter the second my light turns off

today just before lights on i checked my humidity and it was at 55% then it drops to 48ish % with lights on

Kinda of normal yes. I'd say it's best to use multiple filters if you want zero smell. I run 2x in the room and one outside it 24/7. Then I have a 4th I turn on if people are coming over.

when i was growing in a tent i could go past 55% humidity and my filter worked fine
i got a cheap one this time and i guess there is a big difference on the quality

Agree with using multiple in-line. Including one for the hood if it’s air-cooled. All air exiting the grow area.

i dont have a normal grow room space. i use to grow in a big tent and my guess is being a bigger space humidity was keeping it self in check better then the smaller space i work with now
i must be getting humidity spikes for like 20 mins when lights 1st turn off making my filter stop working for a bit. only happens when temps are hot. haven't noticed it the last two days
