Don't know if it has been said but HTG Supply carbon scrubbers don't work well at all. The fans they sell are fine, but the scrubber got rid of only about half the smell for 3 months...
If you make your own do not use pelletized carbon, that is when they shape it into little cylinders. Don't use pelletized because the carbon is held together with a filler, it does not do any good to run air thru filler, granulated carbon works much better.
