Leaves produce carbohydrates through photosynthesis. They are not drawn from the soil. Adding carbohydrates to soil is to feed the bacteria in the soil which in turn, promote healthy roots.
If you want to give the plant more carbs, provide a good environment for it to produce them.
If you want to supply the soil with carbs, use molasses.
Why do you feel like you need to increase carbohydrates? I can honestly say I have never seen a carbohydrate deficiency

Yeah, use more light.
Plants make their own carbs and transport sucrose through the phloem, not the xylem.

your advice...No deficiency, just heard clones produce better, stronger, faster roots when there is ample carbs in the mother. So from what you and the other "friend" wrote, I deduce that light is the key factor for carb production? Hmm. Lights are good. I think I better make sure my feeder isnt feeding too much N.

Cuttings dont need much light until they establish a root system. .
