I'm not studying english but one of my mates is doing her honours year in english language, just specialised down from lit+lang. From what i hear from her the literature portion involves a LOT of pretty hardcore reading and essays, but if that's the kind of thing you're into it's pretty good, but depending what uni you go to it'd be harder or easier, she's at a fairly hardcore uni. The language stuff is apparently more interesting but can get quite complicated, having to write big massi essays just on grammar and stuff.
If you know roughly where you want to study, location wise, google for unis in that area, then check out the online prospectuses to see if they do the course, most of them should have detailed outlines of what each course involves in what year. You might also want to check if you have to do an extra year to get a teaching qualification, i've no idea. UCAS applications close in like march i think so it's probably worth gettting your skates on if you're looking to start in Sept 2010
