Banks in California and Colorado have been reluctant to work with medical cannabis providers for fear of violating drug trafficking laws. Meanwhile, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime says that systematic laundering of more than $350B in cartel profits helped to keep the economy afloat when the shit was hitting the fan in 2007. Exactly whose money should these banks be handling?

Just talked to Thiele. Attorney General is not accepting employees at this time based on the rulemaking in process. He told me to check back with him in a couple weeks. so..... Right now new employees are not being accepted.
 
i have 2 friends that are bank loan officers at 2 different bank, one is a muckity muck in the bank and they both looked over my business plans and said that its a solid business plan and is a sure thing to be sustainable, and then denied the loan. they even told me if i peeled off the caregiver part and jst applied for the loan for my other business model, i would have a chance.. simply, the banks wont fuck with the feds, Key bank put out a memo, one of my friends showed me, that specificaly dealt with mmj and said do not do it..

mdanforth, any good info you find out we would love to hear. I can;t think of any specific questions for the guy, but i'm sure your talking to him for a specific reason.. get that info, yo!

Hmm..rulemaking in progress, eh? Wonder if they'll be public hearings.

Yeah, I know. I was ticked last time because I missed it. Mind you, I was a very interested individual and watched the papers and the DHHS website for announcement of said hearing, it never came. Next thing you know, there's a news story about the hearing that was held in Augusta.

If anyone hears of a public hearing on this, or for that matter anything to do with MMJ, could you please post the date and time. I am only 20 minutes away, and would love to get involved more with this direction. Thanks in advance :-)
 
check the hall of flags in Augusta, There is somthing for mmj going on there. I just heard about it in a soc201 class, but I did not get any details on it yet im going to look now
 
8:00 AM Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine is meeting in augusta at the hall of flags. probly way off topic but im sure some one will find it usefull lol
 
Just go look at the Hall of Flags, calander in augusta, Maine. The calander has the meeting date and time on it. That is a freespeach zone or somthing like that.

Nope. Dont have to have it pre built,they just want to make sure you have security in mind and people dont walk into your grow room as soon as you open your front door.

If said front door has adequate locks, that would be ok too imo lol

That doesn't seem like a legal reason to deny the application. They should change the application if they aren't accepting employees.

Rejection of an application or renewal is considered a final agency action, subject to judicial review. Jurisdiction and venue for judicial review are vested in the Superior Court.
 
not sure man, my employee got a letter with a voided check. I sent 2 checks, mine and his. I would suggest you do the same if you plan to file an application. that way they can only reject one.
 
Does anyone know what would disqualify you as a caregiver? What are they looking for in this background check?
 
Is becoming a care giver pretty simple? as in getting approved by the state? If you fill out the application and send the money etc etc.. do they deny a lot of people, I have no felony charges, no drug charges, if they don't grant you a care givers license do they refund your money. also do most people just start off as being a (1) patient caregiver for $300 then when they find others they just add more? new to all this any information would be great, thanks 207
