Catnip and cannibis are in the same family, can I grow it the same way?

I want to make a garden of catnip, and the more I read, the more it seems like they grow VERY smiliarly, flowering similarly, etc. I saw one site that suggested topping to make it bushy.

Does that make sense? I was gonna just toss a bunch of seeds, but I think I'll actually germenate 50 or so in little containers till they start to sprout, treat them right.

Any suggestions for this project? I wont be starting till spring, since I'll be taking over a large section of my backyard for this.

Anyone have links to good sites? It seems that there is variety in strains, but I cant' find a place like the weed seed banks, that lists more than one type to select from.

I bought a couple seedlings from a local nursery and put them both in the same pot. Set the pot outside and it grew easy. Will get very wilty on hot days to the point where it looks dead. Give it a watering and pops right back up looking good. The nursery had already topped them and they are bushy as fuck right now. Huge bush growing out the pot. I'm sure u could do same as weed and would grow great. Very easy

I think you got hold of some bad information. Catnip is in the "Mint Family" and the only thing, even remotely, related to cannibis is hops.
