Today was a pretty busy day for me. If you're here for the grow, I understand, just skip this.
I had class from 1-5pm... I'm a college student, trying to figure out how to make things work in this economy. I'm currently enrolled in a program which is a benefit for marines, navy, or whatever branch you where in. It's called the G.I. Bill. Yes, at one point I was an Active duty marine. Now I'm just another civilian marine trying to make ends meet. I guess this all comes about because it's well, veterans day, and no one will let me forget. So anyways, this morning I wrote a 5 page paper on the ethics in consumption of fuel on a personal and global level. Let me tell you, the U.S. is scaring me lately, we do some really really stupid shit. For example, per capita, we are the largest consumers of energy world wide. We are also consuming half of the worlds made(or dug up, manufactured, whatever) non-renewable resources. Let me spell that out for you.

Writing that report made me sick to my stomach. Thinking about those numbers still does. We don't have to be like that, not even us growers. Turns out the best solution to one of the biggest problems in the world is as simple as personal accountability. There is people that don't care where the energy comes from, they just care about themselves. This is called Ethical Egoism. This is a bit different from the traditional egoism that exist on a psychological level.
Egoism exists today in our country(or at least mine) and is widely encouraged. People are praised for being "successful." "Hey nice car! You must be very successful." However, this has become so fundamentally rooted in our society today that if someone has to take a shit on someone else, literally take a shit on them, they would shit to better themselves. This isn't something I find in all individuals, but the ignorance of their own behavior I see of almost everyone. Including myself, just made me sick. Wanted to justify that feeling, wanted to get it out. I hope after reading this you feel sick too. Not because I'm a dick, I am a dick, but because maybe then you'll spread the word. Turn off the kitchen light ya pricks!
Just so you don't think I'm picking on the good ol' us of a, I did find one fact that I like. We use 20% of the worlds nuclear energy(the most in the world), which is better(although not much) for the environment than coal.
