Catnip and Green crack

Yes, I do because I run the Lucas as well, and saw the same exact thing.. It tends to be alittle short on that. I'd start out with half strength on the cal mag until you know what your plants can take up. Plus you don't to over do it.

Do you know about how much per gal I'm supposed to start with? How long does it take to see improvements?

Hell yea, in American tradition it states you have to be an obese turd. Well I'm no stranger to tradition, or turd. Look at these plump ass girls, day 36 and all my chicks look like a damn Jenny Craig add. Which one of these bitches dares to get skinny in my tent? None, they are all fat whores who eat and eat. I gladly supply them. Damn floozys.

So lots of stupid updates today, a shot of the other side of the garden along with a shot of the roots. Both requested by a friend of mine, here ya go.

Side view: They look good enough to eat.

So now you've seen my stupid cat again, and my plants. I'm pretty pleased with things so far and with a little input from RIU I think I'll be purchasing cal/mag soon.

Today was a pretty busy day for me. If you're here for the grow, I understand, just skip this.

I had class from 1-5pm... I'm a college student, trying to figure out how to make things work in this economy. I'm currently enrolled in a program which is a benefit for marines, navy, or whatever branch you where in. It's called the G.I. Bill. Yes, at one point I was an Active duty marine. Now I'm just another civilian marine trying to make ends meet. I guess this all comes about because it's well, veterans day, and no one will let me forget. So anyways, this morning I wrote a 5 page paper on the ethics in consumption of fuel on a personal and global level. Let me tell you, the U.S. is scaring me lately, we do some really really stupid shit. For example, per capita, we are the largest consumers of energy world wide. We are also consuming half of the worlds made(or dug up, manufactured, whatever) non-renewable resources. Let me spell that out for you.

1 / 2
50%
0.5 of 7 Billion people.

Writing that report made me sick to my stomach. Thinking about those numbers still does. We don't have to be like that, not even us growers. Turns out the best solution to one of the biggest problems in the world is as simple as personal accountability. There is people that don't care where the energy comes from, they just care about themselves. This is called Ethical Egoism. This is a bit different from the traditional egoism that exist on a psychological level.
Egoism exists today in our country(or at least mine) and is widely encouraged. People are praised for being "successful." "Hey nice car! You must be very successful." However, this has become so fundamentally rooted in our society today that if someone has to take a shit on someone else, literally take a shit on them, they would shit to better themselves. This isn't something I find in all individuals, but the ignorance of their own behavior I see of almost everyone. Including myself, just made me sick. Wanted to justify that feeling, wanted to get it out. I hope after reading this you feel sick too. Not because I'm a dick, I am a dick, but because maybe then you'll spread the word. Turn off the kitchen light ya pricks!

Just so you don't think I'm picking on the good ol' us of a, I did find one fact that I like. We use 20% of the worlds nuclear energy(the most in the world), which is better(although not much) for the environment than coal.

This is going to be my last post for this grow journal. I may return later to post pictures of the final harvest. I'm not sure yet, I found another community online, it pretty much spanks this ones ass. Although it is smaller, I still received more comments and constructive critique on my grow. This is something I had a hard time finding on RIU. It turns out there are some things that I can do now that will affect my end result... If someone would have just taken a minute to post that here, I might reconsider. Just think about all the experienced growers that have seen this page... have seen my issues... and just kept on rolling.

Something to take into consideration. Although it's common knowledge that you learn a ton on your first grow, experience is said to be the best teacher. Just because that's the case, doesn't mean you shouldn't try to help your fellow man, I know I tried to help in this community as much as I could, talking about simpler things like h202, leaf issues, etc. I know that this community is tainted by the fact that 'experience' is the best teacher, when visiting someone else's grow, rather than being a dickhead and saying

'You have fertilization issues you need to flush.'

people just keep on rollin'. So here I am... It's my turn to roll on, to smaller, and better things.

Good luck on all your future grows, spread the love.

- Slivers

Edit: Leaves curl under because of over fertilization, they curl UP because of heat stress. I thought I would share that with you guys, even though I didn't learn that on this site.

It depends on how much nutes you make up at one time. You can just do a mild dosage at first so that way if you don't see a improvement, you can start to increase it a little. For my 20 gallon resi I do 160 ml of Cal-Mag so thats about 8ml per gallon. Thats for mature plants though. Idk if your plants will uptake it like mine, thats why I say start off with a light feeding like 2-3 ml per gallon. You can also skip feedings with it if you run out or whatever..

Also the reason why your thread may not have as many hits is because on RIU, is probably because your not venturing off onto other peoples threads an checkin out their grows. Give love and they'll give it back.

Not sure about the cal-mag. Been talking to some guys and I'm most likely going to switch over to botanicares organic line. Just hear better things about the bud, it's taste, etc. Not to mention there is a ton of feeding information on this site I found... Would be smart to check it out.

I'm subbed to 15 threads that aren't mine.

Cal-Mag is a botanicare product lol, I tend to use a mixture of products to get the effect I need. I don't think that any one line of nutrients has every single thing that I'm looking for. Right now I think I have something like 9 lines of nutrients that I use, not always all together but I use them different reasons at different stages. But as for nutrients goes, I've already got my veg system down, on my flower next run I'll be using Sensi Bloom part a and b along with my normal additive. Should stay tuned for that one. I'm thinking it'll blow this one out of the water.

BTW your cat looks dope as fuck. Had one that look just like it. Now I just have a 13 year old simese cat. Doesn't even look it though, one of her kittens looks way older then her now, roughly 9 or so.

Glad you're getting more input at the smaller site.

I was tempted to move my grow journal to another site myself, but there were a few faithful followers of my Diablo journal that I just couldn't leave behind.

A lot of the times people will just look at your pictures without commenting. This could be because A) Your plants look fine, so they have nothing to say. B) They're just noobs so they don't have anythong to say. C) There is a policy of "Don't Post comments in a Journal unless asked" here at RIU. Of course this is not strictly enforced and is left to the discretion of the journal starter, but not everyone is fully aware of that.

Yea I'm a pretty big nub when it comes to different types of nutrients. I'm going to switch over to the whole botanicare line, not just the cal/mag. I didn't know it was botanicare either admittedly, so I'm glad you said something. lol.

lol thanks he's a pure bred Persian, he's pretty good for the most part... he doesn't really go into the flowering room, but he loves to go in the veg room and jump on my equipment. I'm not sure why really, the veg room is way more compact, less light as well. Your cats sound cool, do you have pictures up in your grow?

Yea I really want everyone to know they are free to post here. I think the real problem with this journal is the first page. It looks like a soil grow... and it looks like 1 plant at first. So I get it if people barf when they see the first page. I want everyone to know that they are free to post here, about anything really. Also, I don't think my plants look fine... some are hungry, some where starved... I performed a 1 day flush at 0 ppm(300 hard water) so today is their first day back on nutes again, they are at around 600 ppm(- 300 hard water). Planning on slowely increasing the dosage until I see signs of burn again, perhaps not even that much. I just don't want to see burn anymore.

Admittedly I should continue posting... I'm not very good at quitting anyways. :P Most likely an update in a few hours during lights on.

Been a while since I updated. Got a new job doing graphic design and the pay is fat. I have no free time now however.

So with the little time I did find I took some pictures.

The plan right now is to chop in 3 days, at day 60... Tell me what's up RIU, let me know if this is stupid or smart. :p

My crappy camera phone doesn't do them justice, they are they are decently frosty. Also, they are in day 4 of flush, and they seem to be loving it. Seems I have been over feeding a bit. I was only up to 580 ppm overall at the highest point with GH and it seems I was still seeing some deformed leaves, this could also be from heat stress on certain occasions, I really need to invest in a cool tube.

Yea they are coming along ok... Not as big as I imagined but it's my first grow and I learned a lot. :)

I'll check that out now.

They look super to me... and for a first grow, you should be proud. I especially like that first tied up photo. Like, "help me, I'm too fat." Lol.

Alright it's chop day, Jin I'll respond to your thread later on, I read what you had to say about your plans for the site, I have some great ideas based on just that feedback. What did you think of the sites I posted?

I clicked around. I researched the domain name I wanted but it was taken and for sale. Shit.

I'll sign up with that host service you recommended as soon as I think of another name.

Edit: Happy harvesting. Don't forget to smoke report.

So here's the deal with the harvest... Clipping took longer than thought, I never again want to deal with popcorn. Being I want this to reflect how things ran for myself the entire grow I must say I will focus on bigger plants in fewer quantities with a greater amount of time for vegetation, about 3-4 weeks, sometimes 4-8 depending(with topping). I Have been thinking about it and I think scrog is the next only logical step, I need to modify my system a bit. :)

So lets forget future for right now and focus on the present. I harvested a total of 329g(wet) and estimated dry weight of 6 plants is going to be around 82g-110g. This is pretty low... I've heard of people pulling double this, however, I still have 6 more plants to yank and although they did go in behind they are still doing well and should net me even more... Potentially bringing me close to .5 per watt(dry) for using half of my space. With scrog implemented this should change to make sure I have used this lost space. That's the plan.

IMG_0428.jpgIMG_0426.jpgIMG_0429.jpgIMG_0427.jpgIMG_0435.jpg

I'm happy with the results, this will be enough for my personal consumption I'm sure. These are set to dry until I hear snaps from twigs, then I have jars for curing. I haven't smoked any of it yet, because I figure it's prolly shit tasting right now wet anyways. So I have a few more days to wait. That's ok with me.

My next grow for blackberry is already underway. Here's a couple shots of the little ladies. You can see some green crack clones crawling back from the last of the mother. I didn't have a timer for the new cloner I built so I tried out 24/7 on, don't do it. I'm recovering from root rot as I write(early stages).
