caught me higher than a kite

about two weeks ago my little cuzin who looks up to me... hell he even wants to be like me a little caught me smoking the herb. at first he stared for 6 seconds then asked me what i was doing so told him the truth, that was getting enlightened he said to me "are you doing drugs?" i said to him its not a drug if it can't kill you. i think i kinda lost my little guy's trust or i don't inspire him anymore. my ma an aunt talk about it (while high of course) but i don't know how he'll take it.

anybody got any pointers on how they dealt with a similiar situation?

Duude, I kind of know how you feel. My lil cuz also looks up to me, she's only 10, and she's constantly inspired by everything I do. She's got a brilliant, creative mind, and a pretty good sense of what's right and wrong. If she ever caught me smoking...shit. I have no idea how she would react. Her parents smoke, I found a pipe laying around before, twice, but we've never discussed anything like that before.
Honestly, I'd just say exactly how I feel about marijuana. It helps to give them exact facts, whether they're good or bad. And then let the cuz make up his/her own mind on it.
Things will take their own route from there, but hopefully he doesn't think any differently of you, especially if he already knows who you are. But that's the best that I could say.

well after talking with his mom (my aunt) we decided to let him watch his first stoner movie, after that i let him know some fundamental facts about weed (i also told him when he's 15 to come see me).
