I just started some Habaneros about a month ago, finally got smart and saved some seeds instead of pickling everything out of the 5.99/lb things.
I'm in Ga., weather here is hot and muggy, humidity not uncommon to be in the 60-65% range.
Do you think I'll get any this season?
You should get plenty where you live. Water them every few days

Anyone here like chili peppers? I'm thinking of making some homemade cayenne pepper flakes.
Never heard of them, you'll have to let us know how they turn out.
I have some Habaneros going here in Ga., grew Jalapenos last year, and boy-once they start blooming, I was pulling 2 sometimes 3 off the one plant per day :). I just hope the Habaneros go as well, I'm getting tired of payin $6/lb for them.
Care to share the recipe for the flakes?

IDK about the aphrodesiac thing, I eat peppers all day long, but nothing kicks in 'till after alcohol.......... Do I have one of those beer goggles problems? LOL

Thanks Sturbz, its my first time growing peppers and I dont have any clue as to when I should even pick them... that red one looks like it might be done now, but as for my bells I got them seeds out of organic red orange and yellow bells so why the heck are they still green..
also what about the cayenne when should those be ready to pick?
If you get a lot, unless you eat them fast, pick a little before what you would pick from the store, just as they;re slowing down on the growth, and definitely before they get soft. They will keep pretty good in fridge for a week, but mine usually don't last that long.

from my experience peppers love it when you foliar feed magnesium once a week =) usually gets leaves a lil darker after a days use

They turned out great. Dried them out and made homemade pepper flakes, hotter than any other cayenne pepper I've ever eaten. I harvested about 100 of them.

Sulfate of potash is your friend when growing chilli's! A feeding once every 2 weeks will have them ripening and tasting sweeter :) ive grown every type from cayenne to thai to jolokias and trinidad scorpions and it was only when i started giving them
doses of potash that they really started to ripen properly and taste even better! Also its good to start picking them when a few are semi ripe as it makes the rest ripen quicker as well :-)

Hi there,
I can see you have mentioned giving chilli's some potash to help them. Just wondering if you could recommend any brand/type in particular that you have had success with. Be interesting to use in the future. Also at what stage did you give your chilli plants the doeses of potash and how much at a time. Thanks. I'm just starting a new grow, growing just super hot and popular chilli's, growing on a fairly large scale to harvest the seeds for sale through my business in the uk, so any advice is received greatfully.
