Cbx Series cobs. Cumulative info and comp.

Well fester, Thanks for the motivation boss! Since I am missing just the leds, I can get the wire and L bars from home depot and mount up! (a pun because I got the mounts) lol Ill post pics in the next few days. I got the cpu fan, the mounts, the drivers, the paste and the solder. Just some drill bits wire and some good luck... dont break the bit dont break the bit dont break the bit. ima keep it oildup and it should keep the bit from getting hot and breaking :D
 
Just go slow, maybe one turn, then back it out, then go again. The hard part is aluminum tends to gum up the tap.... If you have it locally, look for an oil called tap magic.

My old heat sink came drilled and tapped for 3w stars, I'm hoping two of the holes will line up, if not I'll just drill and tap it myself...
 
Have any of you guys found out what bin of cxb3070 3ks you guys are getting from KB? Told me he won't know till they come in. I am nabbing some CXA3070...N0HAD50F's to replace my area 51, will probably sell it shortly after to turnover the investment.

Has anyone here ever ordered from KingBrite? Is there any protection through Alibaba? I would be nervous about paying that kind of money without knowing they are good to go.

Use paypal and you will be protected and a few others has ordered and is very happy for the savings. Just remember tell him you're on RIU and you know me and he will up you up. I was having a conversation with Jerry yesterday and he asked me this "by the way, we want to prepare CXA3070, CXA3590, CXB3070, CXB3590 in stock
can you give me some suggest for the color and quantity". I told him 3000k,3500k,5000k and maybe 6500k but not a lot of those. Get more of the 3000k and 5000k like 100 each of those and 50 of the 3500k and 6500k they will buy them all. He'll stock more once people start buying from them and the price will get even better.

jerry is fine. just use paypal. they have no reason to screw with potential business
 
@Scotch089 they told me they weren't sure what step they offered. But they'd get cb bin for sure. I am a bit unsure till I get more info but they connected me w rep in charge of Cree orders, jerry. I want cb or higher and 2 step would be best! But they couldn't tell me what they'd get either.

Got an email that Mouser is delayed till 4/13....

Just received (4) CXB3070's today so I'll at least have something. Haha
 
Was there another delay? I'm starting to think there's a delay with Cree on them at this point...

My 3070's made it next day along with a huge order we had placed with them earlier in the day... I was like a kid at Christmas digging through looking for my stuff. LOL
 
Yea, so I emailed the manager to find out why digikey extended my p/o by a year without my knowledge. Meaning if I had not contacted them for a hr to get an answer: my order wouldnt cancel like I arranged it to. If I had not spoke w them they woulda just sent me the parts and charged my card any time this coming year. In turn causing a bigger headache. But, the manager didnt respond for a week when askedif it was a mistake and why it happened, so I call in. The sup I received got an attitude with me and started talking to me like a teenage girl, WEll we got xyz customers, you want us to check every weeek? and blah. I was like I dont care what else you do,(not like it concerns me at all) you obviously have no concern for my hours wasted due to you breaking an agreement and refusing to respond. I will be contacting the bbb, this is fucking ludachris. Have a great day. She goes you cannot continue to speak to me this way, I said what,. have a great day? well then have a great day! and hung up lol I will be ordering from KB lol.
 
I know everyone is just realizing because everyone wants CXB's now...that unless you see them in stock...they don't really exist.
This is not a new issue..it has been that way with CXA's for 6+ months...constantly pushing back expected deliveries. They are expected based on the supplier(Cree)...so it is not the distributor doing this.

Luckily my supplier is in China so Kingbrite will get theirs first lol. I'll find out in a bit if Kingbrite is gonna have them in stock today, because I was chatting with Jerry yesterday and he said they might be getting some CXB's today.

Yea, your totally right. Its the either cree or distribution lines between them on the distribution hubs. I just dont want to give my money to someone who feels like its a burden to be clear. I placed a purchase order that is set to expire, if you change it tell me. dont make me hound it out. lol. no relationship is easy lol. ;) one day a provider will fail you. Just not generally the first time. lol
