CFL expert questions.

Greetings

Just wanted to ask some of the experts on here if there is any truth to adding a week to flowering because of the use of CFLs over a MH or HPS. based on what I see my girl will be ready by its 8 week ETF but I know I heard of adding a week.

Another question I would like to ask is what is all this dark before harvest I hear people talking about?

The theory is that since, CFLs are not as strong as the other. Add another week.
On the subject of a Dark period before harvest. Is that by denying light to the plant. The plant thinks it is going to die and will concentrate all of it's remaining energy to fatten up those buds.

I subscribe to none of these.

But, other will swear by it. Try it and see for yourself.

Thank you sir, and thanks for your speedy response I see no need to go an extra week with what I am doing.

I tend to believe that when using cfls that the tops will finish before the rest of the plant,if theres not enough coverage.We all know cfls light isn't as intense,doesn't penetrate as well hid.So yeah I could see how one could think to add a week to flower or cut the top when its ready and let the rest mature....or have better light coverage....my 2¢

I like to harvest by looking @ the Trichomes. Everyone has their favorite color stage. For me it's 70% Cloudy and 30% Amber.

Agreed, a friend I work with said the same I have six top colas that look unbelievable when they are done I am going to make one cut and get all 6 tops drying, I will then let my bottoms popcorns finish up.
Appreciate the tip though Anything to maximize the crop

Going to take a few grows before I get this part down. I went too long in veg and ended up with huge plants I have 2.5 girls under 976 watts cfls. Next time I'm going to do 12-15 smaller ones that way I can play around alot more and dial this in. Maybe on Friday I can buy a new cord for my laptop and I can get my journal uploaded for you guys to see.
