CFL grow 12 days into flowering, pics..

This is my 3rd grow, 1st indoor (what a difference). I started these girls 54 days ago outside but the weather got VERY cold ( around 29 degrees) so I had to fashion a very ghetto setup before the plants died. They got shocked about 3 weeks after sprouting and stopped growing completely for about 2 weeks. They are back on track now and are growing quite well under CFL's. They are 12 days into flowering and doing okay...I am using 4 parts schultz potting mix and 1 part perlite, Miracle Grow Full Bloom 10-54-10 at 1/8 stength (1/4 stength created some burn problems) and watering every 5 days or so ( or when I notice slight drooping). I am using two 42w CFL's (2700k) one 42w CFL (6500k) and a 24" floro (2700k) for side growth for a total of about 6,000 lumens. I would like to add at least 4,000 lumens once I get the heat problem situated. So what do you guys think so far?

Looking nice an healthy!
I think that a red spectrum 175-200 watt envirolite (around about $35) could help you get a bigger yield out of these; but they are looking really good at the moment considering the heat problems.

Good Luck with your Grow!

i started off the same way,..but right at flowering time i switched out all cfls and put in a $60.00 HPS 70 watts from LOWES. incredible difference. my only 2 planted seeds are both female and apprx. 22 inches each with buds at every node. try a HPS guys. you dont need those 250 watters. they can be purchased very cheaply and are so much more effective!
nice pix for cfl,..as I didnt think mine would even flowwer using them!

Lowes carries HPS? I would imagine it would make a huge difference at flowering. Even at 70w i'm sure it puts out way more lumens than a bunch of CFL's.

Thanks for the input guys. So is it true that CFL grows put out real fluffy buds? Maybe a 70W HPS with a couple CFL's to fill in the bottom buds?

you need to seperate those plants ( 1 plant per pot )

looking good otherwise

Day 13 close up pics
That will be some nice strong weed, you did well to save them,if you can can add a hps lamp do it,it will make a lot of difference.
I can see trics already forming on the pistils which is a great sign of strength and vigor.
Plants are looking nice and healthy, good job:blsmoke:

Thanks Natmoon. They have been saved are are doing okay. The heat has been pretty intense but they are adjusting. I definitely WANT to get an hps soon. Apparently lowes carries a 70watt for $30 which I would like to use in addition to my CFL's. I'm keeping it simple this time but want to step it up on my next grow. I've been looking into lowryder or lowryder 2 seeds for next year. I'm trying to keep it stealth while harvesting a constant supply. Lowryder strain sounds perfect for my setup becuase I wouldn't need two seperate grow spaces. I could utilize the SOG method with the same lights schedule for all my plants.

yes guys. LOWES has a "security light" which says clearly,..in somewhat big letters,.."HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM". these lamps come with wattage as low as 35 watts,...and as high as i believe 150 watts. they get bigger as the watttage increases. i picked 70 watts cuz price wise it was the same as lower wattages,....but much cheaper than bigger watt lights there. It come with a big bulky clear plastic cage/shield that goes over the light bulb (somewhat like the big street lamps). my 70 watter cost 59.99
and go as high as 129.99. you will need to purchase a seperate power cord for 9.99
and wire it yourself as they come undone. My friend wired mine,..seemed simple. i hang the hole unit from a bungee cord,..and get it as close to the plants as possible,..with a big fan blowing everything around. keeps the temp up,..but no DIRECT heat on the plants. a 70 watt HPS security lamp is the way. They will wire it there for you im sure.
you can go to the hydroponics store and get the minimum 250 watter,..for like $200.00
but im scared of my electricity bill being high. i started out with cfl as an experiment grow,..but as my plants matured,..so did i, and the light just needed to be stronger. for a tight budget,..experiment grow, a cheap hps for like,60.00 is cool because if it fails,..so what. if you succeed,..go bigger again.

If you hapen to have a link to wire a cord to the Security Light, i need it. I found one on icmag.com but it's too complicated.

I haven't purchased a HPS just yet, I was waiting for a suggestion in my other thread. But when i do go out for my HPS, I'm going to home depot, Lowe's, and wall mart to see what my best options are.
Hopefully during the re-wiring i wont mess anything up.
have re-wired things in the past, but there's always that one chance that you messed something up.
