Nice start! Another UK grower here :-) Very well thought out set up.......Tesco's keeps us UK CFL growers happily supplied with bulbs! Have you got any 6500k 'daylight' or 'blue' in there? Harder to find on the high street but can be got online here.

I grew Nirvana AK48 several times because for 'cheap' seeds they are very very good in my experience. No thrills, just very stinky buds that can get pretty big :-) You will love it.

I'll subscribe to this one to watch them finish, they look excellent btw so far.

hi maturesmoker thanks for the comments

all i have at the moment are softwhite bulbs, like you said i think i can only find them online, i have checked all the local shops that stock bulbs but cannot find them.

as for the nutes im gonna go without until flowering now and purchase some biobizz big bloom when the time comes.

the cuttings didnt seem to do very well so they were destroyed, plus i didnt fancy having 9 plants lol

will be posting more updated pics in the next hour.

cheers

heres some more pics showing lots of new growth.

i was a bit worried that from topping them i was going to wait alot longer for them to finish, but with the way they are growing i might be wrong!!!

should i expect a bigger yield?? ( i hope so) if so why doesnt everyone do this to their plants

lots and lots of lush green leaves

They look really good. 'Topping' does not slow things down at all, you see almost immediate growth of the 2 new tops, never fails to amaze me! What it does is to redistribute the growth hormones so all of the side shoots will also begin to take off. The BIG advantage to topping or LST, and especially under CFL's is that it allows you to present a fairly level canopy of budsights within a few inches of the bulbs. CFL's do lack penetration so this method works well.

Those Nirvana AK48's do yield well. I can see that you have things well under control there, healthy green plants. BioBizz is good stuff too, I use it myself.

Nice grow :-)

Nice, very nice :-) When are you planning to flower those?
hello again people, since the last pics i have had a little problem, on two of the plants the bottom fan leaves are like this, this being the worse one, i have moved the lights further away as i think they were a bit close, and they havnt had any nutes for over a week now.

but they are growing away very well, the new growth is really getting messed up as there is so much of it!

im hoping when the stalks get longer all the leaves will have some space and spread out.

and when would you guys put these in to flower ? i was going to give them another week or two to let those leaves spread out

ive also got some biobizz all mix in the post, so will be repotting them into 1gallon-2gallon pots as these are to small i think.

again thanks for the comments and let me know what you all think

hello again heres another update.

the plants were really starting to smell so i had no choice but to move it all up in the attic ( i have children !!!! ) heres a pic

the two plants with the leave problems dont seem top be getting any worse either.

and they have all been re potted into larger pots, this time i have used John Innes no.2 and vermiculite.

the people have refunded me my money as the didn't have the biobizz all mix in stock!

you are underestimating the stink of the strain.

They WILL stank up your whole place if you do not consider some form of odor control.

Maybe a ionic breeze type device in the room? Not in with the plants mind you...hell not even within 6 or 7 feet of the plants...(the ionic devices work...maybe too well that's why you want a bit of distance between the plants and the device) but in the vicinity of them.

thanks for the advice but it hopefully wont matter now that they are up in the attic, as long as the smell stays up there.

i could put a few air fresheners by the flap in the ceiling maybe that will help

how do they look to you by the way?

cheers

and do you guys think it would be good to put them into flower now?

is it best to give them 48 hours dark before?

thanks again

Hi again tamjam,

Those look good. The repot will do them good and if there is an issue in that old soil the roots will stretch into the fresh stuff :-) Do you have a PH test kit? Well worth a fiver and the manual kits last many grows. Might be worth grabbing one and getting the PH under control now that they are in fresh soil, can only help.

In that cabinet I'd personally flower them NOW! They are going to more than fill that box in the 2 weeks after you switch. You will be fighting to contain them. Its a stinky strain you have chosen but I never had odour control when I grew in my loft and never had a problem but as you say air fresheners are a good idea.

Couple of links for the cheap PH test kit and PH down........ a good investment :-)

PH test kit. You want the 'narrow range' kit, it measures PH pretty accurately from 6.0 up to 7.6 and you ideally want your water to be in the range of 6.2 to 6.4 in soil. So long as you know you are watering within the correct PH range you will few worries as the grow progresses :-) Just a few quid.

PH down You will only need the PH down, again a few quid but makes a big difference. Literally a single drop or two in a 2litre bottle of water can drop PH dramatically and will last for many grows.

Hope this helps you, you're on your way to some great stinky buds there!
