Hey guys! So this is going to be my first grow. I have germinated 4 seeds and are ready to be planted.
Me and my friend have a old insulated fridge out in the barn. We are going to grow during the winter so the barn is really cold, but the fridge is insulated.
This is the setup:
Fridge with tinfoil sides
4- 30 watt CFL's (1 CFL to each plant)
We havnt got fans yet.
1 heat lamp on roof keeping it warm

Does this sound like it will work?
Will it be to cold?
Do you need intake and out take fans?

all advice would help me because Im a noob at this stuff

Anyone? I need some help!
i dont personally use intake and outake fans although i would like to have some. the reason i dont is because my grow room isnt sealed tight. so i just have a ocsilating fan gowing. if your fridge will be shut tight i would recommend the fans or you will have heat problems. also tinfoil holds heat i would recommend a cheap emergency blanket from walmart only 3.00. And the question on the lights... i would recommend 100 or so watts per plant but what you have will work. But the more light s the better.

I think realistically you need to be sure that the fridge will be completely warm all winter. When its lights on, yea it'll be warm but when lights out, that heater has to keep the entire area at a fair temp. Insulated is good, but how well will it keep it insulated? Any freezing cold air leaks could cause a lot of stress to the plant. I hope you don't think I'm being rude. It's definitely worth a try. Do it to it and keep us up to date.

Thanks for the help. Is there anyway we can just have the light running all the time?

No tin foil, could cause hot spots and burn up your leaves...just use the white inside the fridge. You could run a small space heater during the lights off time as not to get too cold in the fridge. Place it by the inlet for the air intake.

lol yes... but when you want the plant to flower you will need to give the plant 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark each day.

heres a good idea i hope u like it :)
instead of making a intake and outtake fan just get a mini-room heater i have one thats 6" x 6" really small but heats a 20' room in less then a hour get one turn it on low and seal it as ur intake as it sucks in air through one side and blows hot air out the other then have the outtake fan to blow the air out it WILL blow out the hot air but with the heater going the fridge will stay nice and cozzy 24/7 adjust it from 1,2,3,4,5 different heat temperatures or just run it as a fan so u can use the fridge when its not cold too:) not sure on the price becuz i got mine from a friend for free but im sure it ll work wonders but id say install the outtake fan and heater for intake and then adjust it until u see the temperature u would like try to buy a cheaper one so it doesnt get TOO HOT in there and as for the 30w cfls each plant man that should be find im going to be germing 5 seeds and growing 5 til they show sex and throw away the males but im only using 3 26w cfls with 1750 each so i have 1750 x 3 = 5250 lumens but my grow is lstd and very height restricted hope u liek the idea and hope everthing works out for u
