Dont sweat it man, plenty of other lights that'll produce massive amounts of heat.. my standard bedroom bulb i cant even touch so i doubt cfl is anything to worry if anything to worry about at all :'D

Police wouldn't see a 1000W if you have it ventilated properly.
The stories you hear of police catching people through the heat the light produces is the result of huge grows venting into their attic space without a secondary cooling plan. Attics retain heat like a mofo and will show up clearly on a thermal scanner if you're unlucky enough to have so much ambient heat in your attic crawlspace. Vent your tent out a window or into a cool box, hell for a CFL you can vent right back into the room itself as long as cool air is coming from somewhere else.
