hi guys, just recieved 2 actual 125w cfl's , fuck me they are big. i thought they were like the energy saving bulbs u have at home. anyway, it is the blue 6400k ones i bought for veggin, i have read that it is best to use the red 2700k bulbs for flowering.
do you have to use the red ones or will the blue ones work for flowering aswell. what about the purple ones, the site says they are blue and red and 25000k, could i get these for the whole grow?

Use one red and one blue and have a dual spectrum. You are trying to imitate the sun which is a mixture of all spectrums but plants can only read some of them hence blue and red bulbs. Generally use blue for veg and red for flowering. If you can't afford it use one of each throughout the whole cycle. If you can afford it get as many CFL's as you possible can in there but remember

MORE BLUE DURING VEG, MORE RED DURING FLOWER!!

im going to get reds aswell, but should i leave the blue on while flowering aswell. have you seen the twisty cfl's , are they any smaller, the ones i had today are about a foot long.

I use the ones which are about a foot long. Never used the twisty ones because they dont put out as many lumens. I use Powerplant, Plug and Grow and Envirolites only. But this is UK??

I use mixed spectrum but some just use blue for veg red for flower? If you have the ventilation why not use all the bulbs you have? More lumens is more bud. And having blue cfls during flowering cuts the stretch down massively.
