Cfl how big will my yield be???

I am growing indoor and this is my set up:
Lights- I have 2 40 watt fluorescent sunlight
And a 75 watt fluorescent grow light from walmart
(less than an inch away from plant) 6 plants

I am starting week 4 today
My tallest plant is 7 inches and the other ones are shorter and getting bushier.

--I was just wondering using fluorescents what kid of yield will I get?
--Also, I'm wryd about my nicer plants being all males, 50% Male 50% Female right?

Note: I can not aford better lights, cfl is easy for me to get and use to that is what I will be using. I just need tips on how to make my cfl grow the best it can be.
I am using good soil and fertilizer.
Thanks:weed:

Hey man im new to CFL grow too but i learned one thing, Invest in some higher Wattage!, the more lumens the bigger the yeild. Also when you start flowering make sure the kelvins are 2700k (red spectrum) for Vegging 5000k (blue spectrum) Home depot/Lowes has pretty good prices in CFL bulbs it will make the difference when you treat the plant right! I switched 40w to 75w and now 150w it grew bigger and faster after each switch.. Good luck RunJumpLiftSmoke!

Definitely... definitely invest in some more CFLs and more light. Pick up a bulb or two as and when you can afford it, and make sure they're the right spectrum.

If this is your first grow then you'll certainly learn the importance of having lots of light when harvest day arrives. I did.

Also, I've heard on the grapevine that there's a 60% chance of getting females, but who knows how much credibility that carries. With regards yield, I got about an ounce with 150w of CFLs from a sativa bagseed plant. I reckon I can get 1.5-2ounces from the blueberry I'm growing now, with 200-250w of CFLs.

I don't really think there is a straight answer for this. Many factors to consider. I heard its about a half gram per watt. So if you have 80 watts then you'll get.40 grams. To me that seems high, I have 252 watts of cfl on mine and that would mean ill get 126 grams. I don't see that happening on one plant. If I pull a half ounce ill be pretty stoked. A ounce on that seems to far out there. I could be wrong though this will be my first harvest.

Bring that walmart grow lamp back and get a 6 pack of CFLs bro.. 6500 spectrum for veg and 2700 spectrum for flowering. Basically with CFLs to get a decent to high yield you will need 3 23w CFLs on each piece of foliage no more than 3" away. The light placement with CFLs is a lot of work but if do right you can grow some decent buds for cheap.

That's a gram per watt per sq ft not per plant.

Do remember that input wattage doesn't really mean anything.

Different brands of bulb emit different amounts of lumens, at possibly different spectrums, per watt.

And, as Gonzo said, you really do need to train plants and move lights constantly to make sure each part of them is getting the most of the light you have.

I got a closet grow going and a question of mine is, Would it be clever if i surrounded my plant with 4 Cfl clamps, One 150W on top and 3 smaller 75W on the sides with an opening for my small fan for ventilation? As of now im just using one 150w really close to the top. NOTE: shes a dwarf

Definitely get some side lighting up if possible.. CFLs have such little penetration the more light you can provide to the under portions the better. A few 23 w an y splitters will do.

Wow the grow went good this time round..... I got about 4 OZ's (little over) of healthy fat nugs. Havent started smoking yet, still curing. Heres a few pics....i'll post the new kid pics in a couple days...... Super Silver Haze!! Let me know what you think......JP!

Medicine has severely improved the quality of my life. You try breaking your spine in 3 places and see if you don't need some sort of pain relief............ 6 Plants per cycle every 8-10 weeks! 1 OZ per 16" plant all on CFL's.......

so what you are saying is with 3 23w 2700 on flowering for one plant should get a decent yield? im asking beacuse on my bagseed 2 1/2 weeks flowering plant i got 3 cfls (one 19w, one 23w and a 26w all 2700k) about 1 1/2 or 2 inches from top and one 27w full-spectrum lamp lightin the middle of her for more inner lighting, and she is growing nicely but from the look of it im not sure she will yield much. if there is an estimate of how much ill get or hopefully get i would apreciate the answer. looking foward to hps growing over 4 or 5 plants! pnut..
