CFL LED Breakthrough

I have heard a ton of bad and good things about growing under LED's and CFL lighting systems. I love science and very much wanted to see if I can achieve similar production out of these lights that a HPS and MH system can produce. Before you go and say something stupid like "good luck a hole" or something like the other posts I have read, hear this. Under my current set-up, my white widdow plants, i am getting growth at a rate of 1-2 inches per day. I am 5 days into flowering and I have full indication on all plants. I am looking for 3-6oz dried on all plants conservativley. I will post pics showing the whole 10 week cycle, from clone to complete. I will post pics of the three experimentals.

Here it is starting from week 1 to week 4. I will take my week five pics today and post them later. The secret to this sucess is from the spectrum and lumen output from the lights I use. I used two 300watt equivalent (68watt actual) bulbs plus two 100watt equivalent (23watt actual) and 2 t-5's plus two t-12 flourecent tubes. In the flower box I added 500 red LED's and 500 Blue LED's, on the walls of the grow box. Toatal equivalent output 2000watts. Toatal power used including fan is only 562watts.

My only advice, do not count your chickens until the eggs have hatched.

Other than that your looking... good.

they may seem samller in week 4 than week 3 because I cloned the two big ones. The smaller girl fell on the floor after moving into the 5 gallon pot. This was grown using soil only no chems, no nutrients. Soil and water only!

Growing w/ LED's and not feeding the plant at all for the entire grow is a good way to get shitty results... no offense
Those plants look awfully small for 4 weeks old, even if you did clone them

i don't yield too much, i just do one plant and lst it, only veg for like a couple weeks and flower for about nine or so. i just like growing, but have to really hide it so i don't try and grow a lot. last harvest, i only got 10g, but thats all i was looking for. i do flower with cfls, only 4 26 watters. i think if i were to put three or four small plants in my cab and were to sog the grow, i could get at least an once. but like i said, i have to be really secretive, plus i just like to grow. the bud turns out really good, kinda fluffy, but not super fluffy, very good high.

Good luck a hole. Nah Im just pullin ur chain. Looks good, slow growth maybe? Oh and Im with jeepbeep, never count your chiuckens before they hatch. Spider mtes are a mofo.

This is the conclusion to my grow experiment.
the toatal cost breaks down like so.

1 vortex inline tornado=129
2 clip fans................=24
3x48W Large CFL's.....=45
4x45w Led pannel......=140
6x12w Red Filter CFL's=21
6x12w Natural BlueCFL=21
Soil fox farms Organic.=35
3x5gallon pots...........=12
Toatal=427
Power Usage including fans= 678 Watts
144+180+72+72+120+45+45
Monthly power cost $12

Overall cost= 475

This Grow was done side by side with a 1000W HPS, MH combo using the same white widdow plant, nutes, soil and environment. We used roots organic grow for 3 weeks and roots Bloom mix for 2 weeks at intervals. This was to maintain a natural flavor.

Results;

Controll yeild x largest plant= 1.3oz dried buds
Experiment yeild x Largest plant= 1oz dried buds

Controll potency= strong sativa high, with couch lock
Experimental pot.= Stronger indica high long lasting feeling.

Although the control had a higher yeild, we found that the experimental looked healthier throughout the experiment. It showed a very green color as seen in the pics bellow. The Control had a more yellow appearance and most said it was less potent. The control's setup cost roughly 3,600 to prepare. It includes the two 1000watt HPS and MH setups. And two $300 vortex fans for cooling. We also found the controll to require much more water even with the more expensive to opperate ventalation. The power cost for it was arround $60 per month. It can grow up to 10 plants while our we believe we can acheive good results with up to only 6 in the experimental set-up.

In conclusion: I believe with a full diet of nutrients and carefull attention you can produce higher quality and less expensive yeilds using a CFL, LED grow box like ours. If you are growing small amounts this is the way to go hands down from experience. If you want quantity this will not be a practical way to go due to its need for constant light movement and close attention.
