Hey bud-ies! I was wondering how many 16 watt 6500k, CFLs to put on a 3 inch tall plant. And how far away to put them. Any ideas?

One or two on a 3" plant should be plenty, I think . . . as close a possible w/o touching the foliage. While it's tiny, maybe put a reflector under the planter, or around the bottom of the stalk.
A sheet of mylar, a mirror, foil, etc.

Thankyoou! One other thing. All of my leaves are slightly yellow all over. Is this a good time to start using nutes?

mirrors are no good they eat light, no mirrors mylar or some foil if you have too

is there any nute in the soil? if not then yes, start low and build up as not to burn your kids :-)

well heres how it all started. at first my soil had a npk ratio of .07 .01 .03. with that all of the bottom leave tips started turning yellow and then brown. these would then eventually just fall off. i flushed my soil about a week ago and now all of the leaves, not just the bottom ones are turnng slightly yellow. not near as much as the tips from before though.

If a person doesn't have access to mylar, foil, etc. mirrors are much better than nothing. The concept of mirrors "eating" light is utter non-sense. It reflects in the 70% range, where as mylar is in the 90+ reflective range.

Place a mirror such that a beam of sunshine reflects off of it and thru a magnifying glass . . . now, hold that magnified beam on your flesh and tell me how mirrors eat glass . . . before it burns you. Total myth.
Were it not, I really doubt they'd include a mirror in all complete survival kits.
