cfl lights and stuff help please

umm im using 2 15w cfl lights 800 lumens each in a pc grow box atm bout to go with some 20w cflllights wondering if you guys think i should go for more watage and also if i keep the plants close to the lights will they grow out instead of up? just some questions also i have 2 cfl daylight bulbs and 2 soft light bulbs wondering what i should use each set for and at what stages?

ya man forsure get some more lights...23w are good but i would say get some 42w cfls(theyre about the same size but the 42's have wayyy more spirals)
. because 1600 lumens will be enought for about a 5th of a plant lol. you want about 8-10,000 lumens per plant if you want a good yield.

and just keep in mind that the more watts/lumens/light you have the better.

plants wanna grow up because gravity it pulling on them.
if you mean that if you keep the lights closer will the plant get short and bushy rather than tall and scrawny? yes. the closer the light to the plant the (as long as you dont burn it) the shorter and bushier it will be. no one wants a strechy plant. they tend to fall over and die if they are too streched.

CANNABIS INDICA- they want to gorw shorter and fatter, it in thier gennetic code. with shorter,fat leaves and more of a narcotic high.
CANNABIS SATIVA- they want to grow taller and skinnier, it in thier genetic code. they have long skinny leaves and a very upedy, head high.

have fun tryin to control heat in a pc case with more bigger bulbs. why not at least use a dresser.

awsome reply tranquility. and yea, i use at least 50-70 watts a sq foot using cfls for veg. flowering i use t-5 setup. also 6500k usually makes them grow bushier and shorter, 2700k will stretch them( def not good with cfls, scrawny stems that wont hold weight). also cfls work best when angled, the light emits from the side and down rather than just from the side.

use the lights ur grow box excaust system can handle , its like the cars , a bit of power output may not need an excaust upgrade if the original excaust used is fairly good , if u put a turbo for example the needs for aspiration raises significally and then u need more than a bigger tube and plz readers dont go crazy blaming that has nothing to do with plants , its the same heat raise issue

check ur temps , and upgrade the excaust systme along with lights if needed

whats the measurments of the box for instance , what u have for aspiration of the system ?

thanks for the fast replys and yeah i have 2 exausht fans and 2 going in air fans that are pretty bigg and my box is actually pretty big lol alot of room its a gaming pc box i dont use anymore and ill be sure to get more wattage lumes ext... thanks again for the help

then go for the biger cfls the box can acomodate

u should know that in the first 2 weeks of flower stretch is less when using higher kelvin temps than lower where they tend to stretch a bit more

wow changed my lights to 4 19w cfl daylight same as 75w each 5000k each and the damn plants sprouted the next day after germination now i just hope i get the nutrient timing right lol so i don get nutrient burn
