Cfl or led???? Help me please

Now I'm already using some t5s atm. But I was wondering if I could switch to led? I don't wanna use both. Is led cost less in electricity? Do they have one light spectrum?
I use 2 different t5s to get both spectrums, could I just use a led alone?
Any help would be cool

t5 are not CFL. i would stick with t5 and add LED maybe, but led is for expert growers and the saving isnt real because you need the same amount of actual LED WATTAGE to get the same results as the same wattage HID

t5's are just a different type of fluorescent light...
If you search for Led grows you will find lots of info on the benefits of them. Some people think they help. Some don't. Rarely will you ever see them alone on their own though. In my opinion they don't have enough intensity. If you do decide to go that route tho you should get a professional led light like the UFO light.

T5's and LED together are better than LEDs alone, in my opinion, but you can get decent results with just LEDs. There are tons of grow journals using LEDs. LEDs cost more upfront, but you save in the long run with enery consumption being less. And not having to change bulbs every year and less expensive to cool. LEDs are ideal for small grow spaces. As for needing to be an "expert grower", I don't think so... I have a PG180 and I am by no means an expert, as I am in the middle of my third grow... 1st grow was just LED, 2nd was LED + 2 t5's. Now I have 4 t5's and 125watt HPS in addition to the PG180. Check out the LED without LEDs thread(https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/358190-led-without-leds-my-first.html). Dude uses T5s like you never seen before. Anyway, do tons of research on both before deciding which is best for you. And watch out for LED and T5 haters, they will trash them both without having used either... Happy growing!!!

What's was different about you're first and second grow, besides yield did you do everything the same?

from what i understand LEDs seems like the way to go, they provide more light per watt, choose what spectrums u want and away u go. growers on here say HID lights is better than LED lights, but that doesnt make any sense if u look at the data. light intensity is how many photons are in a given area, photons express themselves as waves (spectrum of light) depending on their energy levels. just paraphrasing off the top of my head. to me its all EM radiation and HID gives off a huge spectrum of light including infrared and UV, LEDs can be arranged in this way but most growers use blue and red, some UV (really expensive models). so basically LEDs produce more light and less heat and can be used alone if u have the proper spectrums, but in reality as we all live in u should use LED as suppliment light along with HID lights. can u think of any bulb that can produce 660 nm light on a scale as a red LED panel?

The first grow was two plants and yeilded about 2 zips. Second grow w/ T5s was 2 plants, same strain and yield was almost 3 zips...
