These are current pics from a cfl grow. 5- 26 watt 6500 k bulbs surrounding 2 plants. 2 4ft. 6500k 40watt strip lights and 2 4ft g/e plant and aquarium 40 watt strip lights hanging above the plant. This is 3 1/2 weeks into flowering. First time grow. Bought a 400w hps fixture and bulb but they r looking so good i dont want something to go wrong if i switch from cfl to hps in the 2nd half of flowering.

You can pull your lights away to make your plants stretch for the light how ever you will sacrifice the close space between nodes on the plant. And therefore could ebd up with smaller buds iinstead of large colas I would suggest LST (low stress training) to get your plants to grow away from each other I'm sure you could find the info in some forum on here if you can't find it get back to some one on here its basically tying the plant

So what I was sayin was tie your tops down away from the centre of your pot and they should spread fine for you. Tie them down carefully and use something soft as not to cut into your plant. Hope this advice was helpfull. Wish you the best of luck. I have had nothing but good good things with CFL's and they never cease to amaze me. I believe there is something to be learned from every grow and every grower even if its what not to do

you guys make things too complicated. LMAO.

I use CFL bulbs as well.

I use 6500k for vegging; and 2600k for flowering.

You don't HAVE to have a mixed spectrum in order to flower a plant.. no idea where you got that info from.. but it's wrong. Way wrong.

If anyone has a questions about growing with CFL bulbs.. just ask me. I keep it simple.. and I'm able to grow and flower plants just fine with what I use.

Anyhow, need help with CFL growing? Just msg me.

Happy Holiday's!

hey man just starting cfl grow got all kinds of cfl bulbs need 2 know will the soft warm white types do or not cheers

scrog is good and great but too permanent. I cant move them if I have to. But i grow outdoors. But cfls are important parts to many successful grows.

you want close to daylight in the blue spectrum for veg and 2500 k or less for flowering so the warm bulbs I think are more flowering spectrum, supposedly the brighter the better for veg

With growin weed with cfls comes great responsiblity. By this i mean, if your willing to grow with cfls, you should research LST techniques to grow effeciently at an optimum quality.

I recently started my first grow and will be using only CFL's

I have a video up at about 1 week old. I will be uploading more as time goes on.

I had two seedlings but I dropped the hanging light on one so now I only have one hoping for a female..... If it's a female I will have a dedicated journal post.

In HD 720P :-o :-P :weed:

IF s1 has two bagseed plants
60/40 sterilized soil/perlite
feeding with npk 8-3-3
3 CFLs each 45W, 6500K on each side and in the middle a 2700K

How long to veg for??
not trying to grow them too high, maybe like 40 cm max for harvest time

so thats like 18-ish inches..most of my plants are a few inches shy of a foot..i vegged for four weeks..but theyre def gonna be taller than 18 in..you should read up on LST(low stress training)

Would love to see an educated answer to this because I guess it would work but the queries I would have are:

- Would the medium you place your bulbs in create heat build up and effectively burn your buds/plants?
- Can the lumens transfer through the medium as effectively or will it act as a barrier?

Anyone??
It seems to me that any sort of continuous clear barrier will cause the lamp to heat up and the barrier will heat up also.

If the barrier touches the plant you still have problems with touching the plant. I don't like to touch the plants it breaks the trichomes.

A wire cage around the bulb might work but then you run the risk of catching the plant and tearing parts of the plant when you move the bulbs.

A wire cage would get hot and may burn the plants.

Sice, are you kidding? Did you make a movie of a one week old seedling and put it on YouTube? Did you drop a Cfl on a seedling? If so, how old are you?
