CFL SET UP Cupboard

So this is my second grow. I built 2 different cupboards. One is 3ft 6inch wide, 2feet Deep and 2feet 6inches tall. The second is 4feet 8inches tall 2feet wide and 3 feet 2 inches deep. I have 6 42watt cfls in the small one, ventilation fan and a blue spectrum light as well. I was curious if there area any strains that i could veg and flower in the smaller cupboard because i would rather not have to move them in the larger one if i didnt have too. Im looking for something that has a good yeild nothing crazy but solid, and thats good quality. Originally I was thinking to use the small one to veg then move them to the larger one for flowering. Then when those go into the flower cupboard start some clones back in the veg. cupboard. However i became a little paranoid with electricity and just getting caught in general with more plants. Any advice/suggestions would be great.

Looks like a good set-up. I wouldn't be too concerned about the effects on your light bill with CFL's. Once you get to 1000w HPS and all of that I would be concerned. Add up the total watts of the CFL's and see how much it is. There is quite a few strains that you could grow just in the veg box and flower. You can do a small SOG (Sea of Green) Or A SCROG (Screen of Green) Or you could just do LST.

There still are many other ways. You could just flower them when they get about 6 inches or so, and do that, but I would highly reccomend SCROG. Gets a lot more yield from just one plant without having to grow 3 feet tall. Just my opinion on that. During flower, If your concerned about smell, make or buy a carbon filter, and also make sure you have good intake and exhaust and a fan blowing on the stems to make them strong.

Get a bigger cupboard.

don't be paranoid about electricity. computers use more energy than your cfl setup. and hell people grow with no problems with 1000 watt lights.

Are you freaking joking? That's a perfectly good sized cupboard. Have you ever heard of micro growing or personal supply? I bet he could get a Quarter to Half pound with that set-up if he plays his cards right.

In about 3 hours i'll be back to explain more in detail, got something to do in the meantime, but make sure it has good ventilation, stick a thermometer in there turn lights on and fans if you have any, and check it out, see what your temps are. Run some tests through there. Check to see if it's light proof. As for strains, I would just recommend something indica, because they grow lower compared to sativa which grows higher. (I'm pretty sure about this) Haha. But anyways, just look into some scrog grows and check it out, look at your options. Read a lot about this, before you try anything is my advice.

Alright yea I have a fan and a humidity and temperature gage in there. There also isnt any light leaks. Running all the lights now to check and see the temperature. haha ghetto it is! any advice garden knowm?

Sounds good man, I'd give it a test grow then. Looks like your ready to go.

any idea what size pots i should use?

i usually start with party cups then after they get 3-4 nodes i move to an 8" pot then a couple weeks before i flower i move to a 3.5 gallon bucket.

Depends. How big do you want to grow them? Square pots have advantages, if you don't want any lost space in your cupboards, but its all personal preference. Round pots work fine.

definitely square then. what size probably. I want the greatest results i can possibly get.

you guys hear anything about diesel ryder? or any of the LR mix strains having great results and a good yield with scrog?

kinda off subject im running 12 -23watt bulbs and the tops of the plants are getting burntive been raising the lights everyday some times two and im running out of verticle room. any ideas?

Don't hi-jack threads. Start a new thread instead. Also I wouldn't suggest a lowryder. You have enough room for just a regular indica. I could be wrong, but I heard lowryders don't have much THC, and personally i don't like the smoke from them. Do an indica on scrog, or a lot of clones on SOG.
