CFLs and Molasses

The plant looks beautiful, deffinitely gonna be some nice buds. Personally I never start counting days, or weeks of flower time until I actually see the plants changing. This usually only takes my plants about 5-6 days since I've been growing from clones for 4 years. The genetics are well matured and I always have nice roots before I put them into flower. I kinda agree with warriorbud, I'm surprised your plant doesn't have visible buds in the picture at 24 days. This isn't a bad thing cus like I said the plant looks great very happy and healthy. It just means that if the plant is supposed to take 8 weeks, it might feel more like 9-10 depending on when you started counting.

Thanks man, it's from bagseed, so I can't say for sure what she is, but like you, I don't look at the calendar for guidance-I just say usually say 'days from flip' for reference.
I got hairs within a week and half I think, and some preflowers in somewhere around 2 1/2, but when she's ready, she's ready.;-)

I never go by weeks for my harvest time its just a guideline of where im at.
I let the loop tell me when there ready.
Bakat tht would make a hell of scrog plant.

I go by my trusty 20x triplet belmo loop.

I find that the breeder gives you an estimate when to expect mature buds. I've had some pheno's go early and some go late and some right on time. I'm with you and just go by looks and trichs.

I didn't plan it like this, but all the side branches I've been tying, have all turned up, and I'm constantly adjusting everything, to keep an even canopy, but it looks like the sides are starting to develop as well as the 2 main stalks that came up after I failed at FIMMING.

backatare i think u should make it so your bulbs are positioned horizontally toward your plant insead of perpendicular. the lights (not the splitted ones) that are on top are in a good position, but you will get way more light with a reflector and them placed around your plant like sideways insteakd of pointed

Ya, I know I should, but I just added them last week, and didn't get enough splitters to do them all, and I'm STILL moving things around every couple days as she continues to give a growth spurt here and there.
I'm just hoping they'll get the bottoms of the outer leaves for now, I already thinned out a bunch that were touching the lights, and been constantly tucking and moving to keep the smaller lower buds clear.

I agree, its funny how easily a hobby can turn into a second job. I'm in the process of trying to find a way out west, and try to make it a real job. I'd love to work for a greenhouse or something of the nature, and it seems like with the change in laws the jobs will be there. I've been working since I was about 14 at various jobs, several for as just as 7 years, and I'm now almost 30 and I feel like the passion has been what has always lacked with other things. I've never been able to put a finger on something I wanted to do as a career until I began growing. That kinda changed everything, and now its just about execution. Getting out west and being able to afford to live are pretty big challenges when you've got a family, as I'm sure many of you guys can attest to! Any not tryin to get way off topic.

Peace TC

thanks for the addition to this thread, looks great and look forward to seeing the finished product. I haven't been able to get any updates lately...grower has grown paranoid of me (understandable) but I hope to have info soon.

Are you talking in second person.......Dont understand why you would thread someone elses grow?
Too late for paranoia, alot of pics but its just a small grow,So i wouldnt be worried at all.

Ive yet to read of a CFL grow bust,Now i would if you had x10 1Ks and hell of alot of pics.

Exactly they aren't worried about the small people. It's the people coming in and doing like 100's plant at one time and doing it to make millions.

after seeing this grow, I will never use HPS or MH lights.
That's a noble statement, and I like the CFL's so far, but until I try HPS, MH lights I will not condemn them.
My main plus for the CFL's to this point, is the heat, or lack thereof.
in a small closet grow, with 300w of CFL's, I KNOW I could not get away in the same space with an HPS in there.
