you can tie down the new growth, however i wouldnt for your current light set up. once you get 6 or 7 tops, flip em

that looks good. as soon as everthing is growing upward again, flip em. Heres the goal. as the tops grow up we want them all to stay even with each other. so tie them down only to keep them level with the rest of the tops.

I have most the branches tied down it's just overgrow a bit since I've been letting them go for more cuttings. My CloneX, rockwool, and ph up+down finally came in today so I'll be taking some clones tomorrow. I have the rockwool soaking in thrive alive red and I'll leave them to soak overnight.

Is there a way I could beef my colas up some? I'm using technaflora bloom nutrients with ph'd water but my buds are still looking popcorn sized. I moved the cfl's that where at the bottom to the top closer to the main cola in hopes of beefing it up before harvest.

Patches, when you flip those lights, those plants are going to double in size. dont worry you will have plenty of tops. lol If you want to focus on anything, more light. Always more light. And is that a Nightmare before xmas shirt i see in that one pic? If so, thats the pic of the day.

Haha, yea it is. The plant I was talking about was the one in flowering it's in the 4th week and still small buds maybe I'm just jumping the gun and trying to rush hopefully they'll puff up. I LST'd it to give light to lower branches so I'm hoping for a better yield.

And as for light I've been looking at this here but buying the 1000w

oh shit yeah 4 weeks, it should look like that. Hell it takes my plants 7 days to change, 14 days of stretch. Then it starts making buds. Once it stop growing you can take and cut off any branches that are low on the plant that didnt grow up to the top canopy. That will help the main tops get bigger. Its called lollipopping.

here is an example from one of my grows before I went scrog.20131207_162620[1].jpg20131129_123153[2].jpg

oh yeah dude. You should. As a matter of fact under my t5s, i measure 6 inches down from the top of the cola, any little buds or branches under that 6 inches gets cut out. with t5s your not getting light penetration there anyway and the plant can use the energy from the little shit to beef up the big shit. remember with t5s #of tops > big single tops. Bigger yields.

Do you think it would be better for my yield if I trimmed below the six inches and lst'd the remaining?

heres the things, its a one or the other. the point behind lst is to force all of the side branches to become "top". With lollipoping your controlling what the tops are growing. Thats why i stopped doing a lollipop. Lollipop is best for HPS lights because they can penetrate deeper into the canopy and have "longer" buds. So i stopped lollipopiing. I only suggested it on your flowering plant because sometimes flowering plants can get lignified (barky) and difficult to pull down without snapping them at their joints.

Great example of lollipoping Merlin, what lights were those bloomed under?

I use a combination of lights. I have a central 150w hid. One 125w cfl and 6 26w cfls that I move around wherever I need them. Sort of an assortment... But it let's me move light in a small space under my stairs, like 4 x 5 space with 6 plants since that's what I'm legally allowed. With the 6 plants it's basically a lollypopped sog.

She's lollypopped now and surprisingly just from last night till now the colas are noticeably wider and bulky. The leaves gained a lot more trichomes as well since last night, they now lead all the way to the tips of the fan leaves. After cutting them it was literally like night and day how fast it responded. With the branches that are cut I have them drying out and going to use it for some shatter!
