CFM in cool climate to cool 9,200 watts

So here is the deal, starting up another room in 3 weeks and can't really decide how much air to blow in to cool things down. I"m a mini split kind of guy but just don't have the $$$ for that right now. And not to be a dick, but please only post if you know what the hell your talking about.

So here we go...

-12'x 22' x 7.5' room= 1980CF
-Uninsulated basement
- Two rows of 7 600 watters. One row is AC, the other is not. So at full output 4,620 watts of both.

Running water cooled CO2 and two 70pint dehu.

I'm going to have active intake and exhaust. Outside air is probably around 40 or so and will get to 50 by may. By then I will have a mini split.

So, I was thinking about a 1 minute exchange rate but thr seems really high.

I could run a 12 max can fan on a carbon filter for the outlet.. That will give me about 1500cfm with the CF back pressure. For the inlet fan I have a beastly furnace squirrel cage fan, I would say its pushing about 1k CFM. I suppose I could throw a 12" passive intake with a back draft flapper on it as well.

Do you guys think this is overkill?

Should I save some coin and go with a 10 max can and smaller CF? Something in the 1,000 CFM range?

All the cooling fans are controlled by a thermo-switch. It just seems crazy to think that I could not cool the room down in a hurry if I was blowing 900-1000 CfM of cold air in there.

Any experienced comments are greatly appreciated

With a dozen 600's running here I am able to control my 10x20 room on 2 six inch intakes. Both run on their own thermo's. My exhaust is a 2700cfm beast of a squirrl cage with ten inch exhaust. My lights run on a completely different system. I also can run 2 de-humidifiers if I have too and still keep a constant temp.

If your temps are cold outside you should be fine, maybe a little overkill, but better more than not enough.

Summer brings other challenges though!

Good Luck

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I should be on with the squirrel cage fan and some 1k fan on the CF.

Are you using a carbon filter with your squirrel cage? I was going to build a box for mine and make a 12" inlet. I wish I knew what the fan I have actually pulls in CFM. Guess Ill take some measurents and see if I can't get close.

I just scored a Santa Fe dual XT dehu unit on Craig's list for 1k. It's less than a year old! Pretty stoked about that. It will pull 140 pints a day, at AHAM! It has dual outlets and only draws 7 amps. Serious piece of kit that thing is. Excited to see it in action
