Cheap exhaust system?

If the fan in the first link will actually pull 130 cfm then you shouldn't need anything else. Your cab measures out to 55 cubic feet. Just make sure you have enough intake to cool your cab. I'm interested in some reviews on this myself
 
I have 2x 2" intakes so 4" intake on the box, should be enough always can add more.
Well I'll try it out, see if it works. Will let everyone know.

That looks like it would work but the price ummm. think im gonna make something like that. Good ol wally world has charcoal filter material that I was just looking at today. Now the project can begin. Cheep carbon filter.... not made in china.:leaf:peace
 
how do you plan on building yours? the one i was going to buy was not built in china, he premotes that himself
 
Not tryin to dis that guys product at all. It looks well made, but if your on a tight budget you gotta improvise. Been kickin around ideas for a filter with low resistance and good flow. Didn't think a fan like that would work good but im obviously wrong. Go for it if you can. It will be a good investment.
 
ill try the fan and filter we will see if it works if it does i will promote it if it doesn't i will say so.

don't waste the money on that filter... it is way louder then it should be and doesnt get the job done....

spend the extra $30 and get a real one...
 
How stealthy do you need to be? That last fan is 2dB louder than the first. I would bet that it pulls better though
 
Well need to get rid of the smell, thats key.
Also when the box is closed cant be too loud. not sure how loud 50 db is
 
That setup will do a much better job, but if ur worried about noise, you should get a speed controller as well.

It is also a question of how much smell you can get away with.... You will need to spend real money to get 100% control. But if you can vent out a window using that filter... U should be good.

I spent more then $300 to control smell because I have to dump air back into the room with the closet in it.

My space is 3x2x7

I use a 6inch can fan... Growbright filter inside and my old foxfarm conected on the outlet... (Filter air twice..)

Then I have that dump into my rooms drop ceiling where I have a 1 gal jug of ona pro gel opened and a little bit of ozone from a worn out ozone generator.

The air inside the drop ceiling spreads out to the surrounding rooms ceilings where the ozone is able to dissipate.
 
Well if it smells a little bit its not the end of the world.
Just cant have the entire basement smelling. Filtering out a window is not really a option.
how bad would it smell if I filter and dump the air back in the basement.? Only plan on having 3 plants
 
I am in the same position as you... i am also in a basement...

When i had the foothills filter... you could smell my plants even when they were just vegging...

when I only had the 1 6inch fan and growbright jr filter... it killed the smell in veg, but once flowering kicked in, you could smell it again.

What i recommend is... one 6inch fan (run it on Medium with speed controller), with a filter inside the grow space pulling air out... and another filter attached to push the air through as it exits the fan.
Then have the open jug of ona...

as you can see by the pics... i keep all that stuff in my drop ceiling... you never SEE it... and with the speed controller you never HEAR it... and never SMELL it

should run you about $280... (you could go 4 inch instead of 6 inch to save 20 or 30 bucks)

Only 3 plant... you would only need 1 plant for a lot of smell...

My basement is not finnished, so drop ceiling space isn't there.
But my box is located next to my crawl space, so I will do what u said except.
I will pull it to the back end of my crawlspace in a big tv box with good ventilation. Inside the box ill put another filter and the tub of ona.
So it pulls through a filter in the grow box and discharges in a tv box with another filter and jug of ona This should eliminate the most of the smell?
For me a soon as it starts stinking bad I would have to shut it down. kinda sucks
So I will invest in the 300$ for a exhaust, does the speed control really matter or is just for the sound. I can live with noise, just smell gets people mad.

Sweet, pricing it out htg supply's doesnt seem too expensive for 2 filters a fan and a jug of ona.

I might order this fan, filter and speed control combo, then buy a seperate filter and jug of ona.

It says it ships world wide...

And the fans are very loud in my opinion... get the speed control. (so if i were u, i would do exactly what u say. that combo.. another filter..and ona.... but you will likely need duct work as well. get the flexible stuff.. the hard stuff splits with to much movement)

Also, since they are located in the US and your items will need to be sent through customs... you should use a friends credit card, address, and name. I know someone who got busted buying a pill press from china because of customs.


Also, the longer the air will be in contact with the second box with ona, the better it will smell. Try to figure out a way to keep the air moving around in there before it leaves.
 
I ordered the one on ebay, with speed control. Just getting another filter and ona.
Flex duct isnt hard to find around town. 2-10 days ill get my combo Pumped getting close.
I hope by the end of next week it will be up and running.
Just need soil and nutes advice now. Anyone? Organic soil? or just one thats High in "N"

hey guys, just installed the fan. I put 2x filters, one on each end.
I tried testing it but not sure if it was a good test.
I took a b-rip in the box with door shut, kinda big one. My bro was standing outside he said he could smell it bad.
My fan was set on medium, are the filters duds or was it too much too quick.
