Cheap Hydro rig

Hey all!, I've been thinking about thinking about starting a hydro based system.. This would be on a very small scale just for personal use so i really dont want to get into fancy items that cost alot of money.. im basicaly trying to keep it as cheap as possible.

Anyways I heard that I can use regular bulb/s to grow my plant if I create a funnel shaped piece of tin foil from the source to plant.

Would this provide enough light? would there be to much heat? Would this work succesfully?

dont know about the funnel. but there no good as far as lights go they'll work but not succesfully..cfl's r way better and cheap like 7 bucks good luck..

I just started a small sale op also and I went with T5 fluorescents. Each light is only 24W and 2' long they are another option if price is an obstacle.

Allright, I'll prolly go with the cfl's than. Do you think I could cover a box in tinfoil and grow in their?

never use tin foil it only reflects 75% of light whereas matt white paint reflects 92-95% with a cupl of gd coats. i heard that your better off getting one high watt cfl rather than 2 small ones as the lumens don't add together.

is mylar considered foil???
is this backed up by many to use white flat paint if possible vs other reflective material???

i don't think so got nout to back this up but i tink tin foil like aluminium sheet and just turns the grow room into an oven. weras mylar i think is some sort of anti heat max reflection and anit-detection, you can get tha shit cheap in hydro shop now £14 for 2m or summit i think mylar is 98.9% reflective. or sumwer close
