Cheap LED idea

I've been doing a lot of homework on LED growing!
As I understand you can use warm white 3500k through the entire grow!
Searching eBay I stumbled on these -

They 50w 4000lm cob chips! They are also waterproof! You get a pack of 10 for £103!
That's 40000lm warm white light in total and with them being 10 separate units you could in theory cover every inch of your plants! Being waterproof you could have the light on the floor of your grow room shining upwards if needed!
My question is for the LED experts would this be a viable cheap option if we are able to control the heat they may or may not give off?

You can probably get a hps setup for the same price

200 watts of EB strips at 20" , $1/watt total cost, so about the same cost without wasting 300 watts perpetually.

I run a 600w hps already! I've been leaning towards led now for a while but the initial outlay is beyond my finances! It was just an idea I had and for the price and coverage your plants would get sort of makes sense!

Once u have them you'll be stuck with them. And then find something better.. IDK 100 bucks is 100 bucks, I'd say keep browsing.

Seen these knockoff boards in another thread. They did rip off hlg bigtime but you could get 2 for what you are spending

Ive been studying the quantum boards but hard to get hold of here in the UK! Ive bookmarked the link and I'll contact the seller to see about shipping etc! I don't want to have to pay duty as it can mount up quickly! Thanks for the link! I'd also need a driver for each board?? The idea I had with my original eBay link was we could use some for side lighting and also they are waterproof!

I'd just buy a roll of 5630 diode led strip and a driver. Less than 25$ bucks and easy customizable

Leds you linked arent better than your HPS setup.
Don't buy ebay ripoffs from US, if you want cheap led boards buy them form china, customs are lower probably. Get official boards from US.
You don't need one driver for each board.

Screw in light led bulbs are more efficient than those cobs.

Having looked at cheap smart cobs, you can do better for less money. I've seen 10 packs of 50 watt 5000 lumens smart chips for $15.
