So I had one extra seed out of the 5 that I hadn't planted yet. Until about 4 days ago. Germed it and all that, stuck it in a solo cup with my growing medium. While moving around some stuff in the grow area I accidentally tipped the cup over spilling most of the soil out so I had to very carefully sift through it, find the seed with the now very long taproot and get it all back into the soil nice and gently. When it sprouted I noticed it had what appeared to be 3 cotyledon leaves but I now think that was the first of its true blade leaves. It's since then sprouted the other blade leaf and it seemed so large (comparing it to the other 4 plants I have growing, their blade leaves were "normal" size)
Could the stress from me tipping the cup over and disturbing the seed be the cause of this wrinkled, very weird growth or maybe the seed is mental?

Don't worry, I got dropped on my head and I turned out just fine. She'll grow out of it.
I figured she'd be ok, I was just very perplexed with the way this seedling is growing. Very odd. This isn't the only "deformity" I've experienced with this grow. On one of my other plants I had a fan leaf grow that looked like a conjoined twin or something. It was really weird and cool lol

Ah yes, teenage mutant ninja variety. You sure the waters not irradiated?
I honestly don't know. I've just been using regular tap water and that one plant was the only one that did that and it was only that one leaf on the one specific node that's now like 3 or 4 nodes down the plant. It hasn't done it since then and it's been growing nice and vigorous for me so I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm doing lol it seems to be working out for me. I'll find out whether it was worth it come harvest time

I do have a question that's off topic. All of these plants are bagseed variety. I don't know what strain any of them are. Is there any ways I can tell by looking at the leaves or anything, if the plant is either an indica dominant or sativa dominant plant? I know how to differentiate between indica and sativa but hybrids is uncharted territory for me

I have seen things like that happen before. You should be fine. The little one will most likely start growing dual leaves the next set.

Indicas have fat leaf blades and sativas have skinny long ones. Sativas usually have more leaf blades. Indicas are shorter plants with less spacing between nodes than sativas, they stretch a lot and have more spacing. Sativas usually have longer, skinnier, cone shaped buds and indicas are usually fat and dense.

Here's a picture with the mutated leaf and a leaf from one of my other plants. The leaves on both plants look fairly similar with the mutated leaf plant maybe having slightly wider leaves

There's one plant I have that I'd be willing to bet money on that it's an indica. It has all the signs of an indica plant. That one was easy to identify, but the rest of them im not too sure about

I know this thread is somewhat old news but I just wanted to update the people that helped me out and show them what this retarded seedling is doing now. It appears as though it has skipped growing the single blade leaves and the 3 blade leaves and it's growing 5 blade leaves from the beginning. And it's really lopsided, one side is gigantic and the other side is still really underdeveloped. I guess my point for updating this thread is to see if you guys have had any seedlings do this and what might've been the cause? I'm not really concerned so much as I am curious as hell

Alright guys, I gotta apologize for continuously updating this thread but this seedling is such an oddity and due to my lack of experience i couldn't even begin to assume why it's growing this way. First it started with 3 cotyledon leaves, then it shot out a 5 blade leaf right off the bat. Now it's working on a 7 blade leaf with what looks to be maybe a side shoot growing between what im assuming is the main stem and the 5 blade leaf. Not only that, the plant already has some "smell" to it, which i thought didn't come until way later into veg. Check this dude out

Sorry to revive a forgotten thread but I just wanted to give ANOTHER update on this plant. So a little while after I last updated this thread, I got tired of trying to balance out using my closet as the flower area and whatever empty space I could find for my veg area so I just stuck this guy in the flower room. It was under a 12/12 light cycle for maybe 2 to 2.5 weeks when I found a nice spot for a veg area so I decided I wanted this plant to actually have a chance to veg so I stuck it back under an 18/6 light cycle. The growth that followed was very ugly, uneven, and just very sporadic. Side shoots coming out of every little nook and cranny. I topped her twice, the second time just here recently (this past Sunday). SHE also just recently showed me her sex. She is in fact a nice female. And that leads us to today. Im actually happy and quite intrigued with the way this plant is growing, it keeps me occupied when I can't look at my flowering plant
