Checking Trich's: Better than a microscope...

Very nice pic but those are leaf trichs. You need to view the ones on the buds to know when its time to chop. Will it zoom in on those too!

Both NLX and WW are my two favorite smokes from the white strain. Both very stoned (couchlock). Your gonna love smoking NLX, its got a strong taste, but smooth.

Explain the differnce between leaf trichs and other trichs. Cos ive always thought they are the same.

What body are you shooting with? I use a Canon 40D and love it. I've not been able to shoot a decent photo while the 1000w HPS is on though, what setting(s) are you employing for your shot?

Also, what lense are you using @ 60mm? is it macro or I.S? I've been trying with a Tamron 80-600mm macro and a 25-75mm and haven't been able to pull off the same shot you did while under that spectrum of light. Thanks.. very curious to hear your responses. I can shoot some very cool stuff but have never been able to pull off a decent frame under HPS. Great photo by the way :)

hey caddy!

I'm also using a 40D with the EF-S 60MM f/2.8 macro lens.

I also tried under the HPS but I guess you know how the pics come out.

So i basically took the plant out of the Homebox and placed it under my bedroom's spotlights (no sunshine today for natural light).

I know it's 1:1. f/2.8 just indicates the largest that the aperture will open. I believe your lens has the same f-stop rating which is what you want for macro photography.

Can you zoom in and crop so it still fits rollitup sizes?

I wanna see it as close as the resolution allows...:eyesmoke:

Awesome quality... great job!!!

Oh! and congrats on the future Mrs...;-)

Thanks!

and since you asked for it ;-)

The actual pics are more than double the resolution of what I've posted. This is a cropped from a full-size pic:

Like I said, it beats the microscope :dunce:

Ahh, that makes much more sense now. I was going to check the EFIX data but since its cropped out I really can't.. What ISO did you shoot them at?

I can't move my plants around being how they're setup so I can only shoot in dark or very dim light. I did manage to stand back from my area and zoom in at about 300MM on a branch and finally got some that mirror yours.. Of course that's with a major flash in the dark.. The low light levels for the glass I use isn't very good, definitely need better glass.

Thanks again, happy shooting.

well I'm using aperture-priority mode (Av), so I just set the aperture then the ISO and shutter speed are automatically set according to that.

under the HPS i set the white balance to about K2500 and reduce exposure a bit. that certianly helps! I try to avoid flash when possible.

don't be afraid to fiddle with the settings ;)

Oh, surely.. I always stay out of any auto program settings.. I have C1,C2 & C3 setup perfectly for the 3 types of shots I like to take.. It was just very funny when I started shooting under 1000 watters it was a whole new world of "lighting" adjustment.

Not to mention.. Lightroom itself can definitely "clean up" any exposures that aren't desired.. Now that I know you had it in an open room under spot lights that made more sense to me than in a closed low light room with an HPS glaring down, haha. Good work on the flowers!

The ones above were taken outside the Homebox.

I took these yesterday in the Homebox under the HPS, with the settings mentioned.

There's still gonna be that HPS spectrum of colors, but greatly reduced. I don't think the results are bad.

WOW. Amazing. Awesome photography and plant care. You seem like a man who pays attention to detail...just the kind of person who SHOULD be growing bud. Very very nice. Thanx so much for sharing the pics!!
