chicken wire fence or alternatives?

Last season I used chicken wire but it made my plants stick out like a soar thumb. I have a feeling this contributed to my biggest plot being seized by police. I'm looking into alternative ways to keep animals at bay. I've heard of using hair, urine and soap. does anyone have and experience with using these methods that will inform me of the pros and cons of doing So. Thank you for your time and happy growing!

this year im trying fishing line at 3-4 different heights. im figuring 80-100lb test, gonna use green stakes around each plant and do the line at different heights. also gonna do the same thing around the perimiter of the plot.

I heard of that method also I just hate having a cage you can see from 10 yards away. Being decreet Is my main goal.

Piss in a gallon jug every morning right when you wake up. Then spray it around your plants, about a 10-20 yard radius. I usually bring my pup with me and let her run buckwild. You can also try dawn dish soap and water. Spray it on every plant you can get, yours and plants that are growing around it. This will make any animals not want to chomp on these any plants around here cause they all taste like shit. The dawn also keeps bugs away, and isn't harmful to your plants. Happy growing! :hump:

its animals your worried about if a person is ten yards away there going to see them anyway, fishing line on different levels is a good idea depending on how big the wild life is in that area I would use maybe 20-50 pound tess you dont want it to be to strong because think if an animal gets stuck in it that will cause a lot of attention expecailly if its a deer or coon those things can make some noise and draw a lot of attention...

alot of peeps use T bars and green or black plastic fencing...a grow stands out to those looking for it for many reasons the fence may contribute to the noticeablitity but there are other things they look for like the dramatic contrast of the color of canna plants compared to the native greens...go with more smaller gardens this year and stick with what works for you

No,

Fishing line stands out like a sore thumb on sunny days...and it glints when windy...not a good alternate.

Back in the days when I had to hike miles to my grow and only went back every 2 weeks I needed something to protect my crops. After years of trial and error I came up with this simple effective repellant. Get panty hose and stuff it with irish spring soap chips, human hair(get from hair cuttery say its for your moms garden), Moth balls (protect against bud worms). Make golf size balls using the panty hose to hold everything and use rubber bands to attach to plants. Worked great for me. Good luck to ya!

if theres nothing else to eat, ivory soap, hair, fishing line, couger shit and deer away will not work.deer will hop an 8 foot fence for your green trees.i like to make a hugh cage of chicken wire, one inch for the walls and eight inch for the roof.while the wires rolled up i spray paint it camo,un-roll it ten feet and repeat.untill covered.also leaving the rolls out for the winter takes the shine off them. braid dead brush and branches into the wire for more camo, roof and sides.i use eight foot redwood trucks(young and narrow)to support the walls and roof like a tent.six foot rebar as post for the walls, hammered in.any soil i dig from the site i pile around the bottom of the wire, after a year it looks like the fence is growing out the ground.plus keeps rabbit out.since we have no hunting in my area the deer are fearless.

Why would someone be 10 yards from your patch? if they were 10 yards away bro fence or no fence its gone. Cops found your patch from a chopper so the fence had nothing to do with it, the reason there was dope for the pigs to rip was because you had a fence, keep going with the chicken wire ,pros use real steel fences not liquid fences, human hair, lion piss, irish dish soap or grizzly bear cum.
