Chop or Not

This advise will lead you straight down the path to shit weed that never fully ripened.
How long have you been growing?
5 years?
10?
15?
I've been growing for over 40 years & guarantee you my product is top notch (at least that's what my customers say after smoking that shit you get from dispensaries)
So, you go right ahead & waste time over-ripening your plants, oh wise one.
Have fun :)

but there are still new white pistils forming?
Totally normal.
Once the bud is 1/2 brown with shades of white, it's done.
When you dry, the bud will darken further (remember that the plant will continue to mature after you cut for around a week)
What is white now will darken during drying.
That's what happens
I want to get the product out the door personally, so go right ahead & make an 8-week plant into a 10-week plant.
It's usually not needed.

Personally, I would cut it now.
The plant will continue to mature for around a week after you cut.
I chop when the bud is 1/2 brown/1/2 white, any longer the weed will be totally brown & I like it with some white hairs still present.
Also, it a smoother smoke & and a more uplifting high.
How many plants do you have?
If more than one, cut one now & let the others mature for another 2 weeks.
You'll see what I mean
Nice looking bud/congratulations :)
None of this is correct information.

Smoother smoke and more uplifting high? The 1980’s want their bro-science back.

Over ripening… hahahha

I just took this picture. I will wait until Thursday night to chop. Best of both worlds. I want to check trichomes but the scope needs to be charged. It doesn't appear to be getting any bigger, denser or change in color. Only color change is fan leaves hetting yellow and some of the fan leaves drying out.

Temp stay around 78 to 80F and RH @ 60 to 65%. I turn off 1 fan and lowered the rest. Felt it contributed to the leaves drying out so fast.

Picture is extremely blurry but still has quite a ways to go before ready. Your plant though do what you want.

And you're recommendation?
Definitely not to cut it down early.

Your plants not done. Your Amber's appear more on your leaf, you want to see Amber's on the buds. If you wait your buds will swell up more, giving density and your weed will get you stoned. If you chop like this you will regret it. I've rushed thinking it was done and might as well gave the weed away.

OP, I like this post about signs of ripeness to look for. https://forum.grasscity.com/threads/a-guide-on-when-to-harvest.666373/

You are in almost no danger of over-ripening your crop, it's almost impossible to do, especially for new growers. You'll never get to complete ripeness if you only focus on an arbitrary % of white to brown pistils, or milky to amber trichomes, you need to focus on the complete picture of what is happening during the ripening process. Waiting until they are ripe is 100% worth it-that is how you get the most out of a plant's genetic potential in terms of taste and potency. Sure, a scope can help, but it's just one piece of the puzzle, and it isn't necessary to harvest perfectly ripe buds.

The fans most likely didn't cause this, and without them the likelihood of bud rot increases dramatically. I would pull all of the dead leaves regardless of how much longer you let them go. They are a front door for bud rot.
