Jodi Routh, Routh’s mother, testified for the defense, describing her son’s struggles with mental health issues. She had reached out to Kyle to help her son, telling him that he had been admitted to the VA psychiatric unit three times but was not getting the treatment he needed, according to a report by WFAA. Kyle had assured her that he knew what Routh was going through and offered to spend time with him.

Rouch had PTSD? He was never in Combat. I think he was a mean, dirty drunk. And he had a fake PTSD diag. And why he gunned down these two warriors with a pair pistols at close range, it is probably just something they said, that pissed him off. He was a REMF in the Armory. They are real snake eaters.

The Press was attempting to demonize PTSD from the beginning. The only discomfort PTSD brings is to the sufferer. We don't turn violent. We withdraw.

Yup , Carlos was the man & did it with a damm starlight scope , by todays standards his weapon was not a sniper weapon .

Chris Kyle was a hero to me. He kept alive the men he was sent to protect, and he went back and risked his life multiple times to do it because he loved his nation and the men he served with. I'm proud to have Chris kyle day here in Texas. My feelings have nothing to do with our country's foreign affairs or war policies, but only to do with a man who did his job well and as bravely as it could have been done. It's sad to me that people can't recognize when a man gives his life for his country so that the rest of us can enjoy the things we enjoy.... Like getting stoned and talking shit on a fucking weed growers forum.

i would have been getting stoned and talking shit whether we went to iraq or not, but now i get the bonus of paying for bullet catcher welfare. that is not among the things i enjoy.

The reason he kept going back is because he was addicted to it dude. He was addicted to the entire process, to the simple life that exists overseas. 'Bad guys v. good guys,' you get caught up in it. Aside from his good intentions he was addicted.

Most operators are greasy slimy mother fuckers I wouldn't let my future children near, but they are efficient soldiers and fully mission oriented. They are hunters, they hunt people for fun, they play hard and fast.

Let's just point this out, for anyone who has not hunted humans, it's the rush of a lifetime. I have rarely felt more excited and alive then a firefight. Dark but true.

Perhaps I am just trying to remind everyone that war is fucked for everybody involved. He got lots of thanks for his help, give him a thank you but I don't think placing anyone on a pedestal due to war service is anything but propaganda.

To me it's less important WHY he did it compared to THAT he did it. He could have run like a coward at any point in time. Perhaps it was an addiction, sure, but like firefighters who also get addicted to it, that certainly doesn't take anything away from the fact that he did it.

And we'll have to disagree on the issue of propaganda and to placing him on a pedestal due to war because that's what we as mankind have been doing since the dawn of time. We love war heroes. Ghengis Kahn, Atilla the Hun, Napoleon, all throughout time fame has come with war.

I hear your point but like others have said we'll have to politely disagree- addiction doesn't remove valor in my eyes. Anyone who will give their life for their country should be appreciated and respected, not vilified by those who wouldn't.
