smelly, I have an 8" windtunnnel and I built a mdf box and lined it with a cut up piece of insulation 4x8 foam board. I used 8 in insulated ducting from lowes. It has an R value of 6.0. With that set up it is very quiet and no noise comes out of the exit hose. That fan uses 142 watts which is very low for 8" fans. If I was going to add anything I would add a 90 deg hard fitting that comes off the reflector and points straight up. I think this would make the air flow faster around that bend. Im glad that fan worked out for you. Do you have a gauge to check how many watts it uses? That DWC stuff looks like it could produce a lot of buds. For my next grow if that ever happends I would like to try out subcools supersoil mix.

Those are all great ideas and thanks!! Threw you some rep, the hard 90* elbow was genious! lol. I'm probably going to insluate everything after I finish up this grow to help quite things down, I'll add that elbow aswell and let u know how it works if you haven't done it already :) Oh and I'm not sure how much the fan uses watt wise. Kind curious now.

Here's some more pics of the girls. Couldn't re arrange them byt you get the point:joint:20_Days Flowering Qz & Vk

These work good smelly I got one in my setup now. I wish I had 2, one for each side of the fan. They are light too, like 4lbs or something. 18" long for the 6" version, so you gotta have the space too but they definitely work wonders.

And your scrog :hump:!!! it looks amazing man buds are filling in nicely. Your gonna fall in love with the 600 I promise lol

I forgot all about that bro!! You have to push through that obviously right? lol. Remember I'm pushing through my filter, could I still make it work? I don't see why not! Thanks once again SG :)

HM EC/TDS/temp meter came into today! This thing is very good quality and a great price for anyone thats looking :)

Just checked my EC of Tap in Ms "microsemens" and its reading .44 which is right in between the first 2 on this chart as far as ec vs. ppm's on different meters

View attachment 1933198 So I took .44 "check my math on this SG lol" and multiplied that by .5 "the conversion factor that HM uses" and you get .22 which when you move the decimal over 3 places equal exactly the same reading as my PP M which is 220 :) So needless to say assuming this is right my tap is about half the strength that I though it was :) So my question is, I can measure my TDS"PPM" with this meter aswell in all 3 different conversion KCI "which is what they use to callibrate it", 442 and NaCL. I've noticed most calibration solutions use the NaCL but when I compare the KCI to NacL on this meter right now its like a few ppms off so not a big difference at all! Anyway I guess I should just get used to reading the EC and knowing what my plant like "EC" wise huh SG? Because I realize now that ppms are pointless if you have EC, the difference is if you have EC and TDS or PPM you can find the coversion you pen uses to get ppm... Not only that but different NUTE lines use different conversion depending on where the nutes are from... So if your using a ppm/tds pen that calibrates @.5 and a nute that calabrates @.7 your going to be a little off on you ppm readings and not even know it!
Anyway just thinking out loud, lmk what you think!

lookin sticky over here!!!!!!!!! great job smelly!!! they're getting very full now!!!!!
Thanks stoney, I'm trying to get on your frosty level lol.. Appreciate you stopping in!

I use mine in microsemens KCL (because that's what my bluelab cal solution is). My tap reads about 0.40 also, sometimes as high as 0.50 in the summer. Yep, 0.4EC = 200ppm on the 500 scale. And your final point is why I recommend everyone uses EC. PPM isn't accurate anyways because its converting EC based on formulas to PPM. It is not truly measuring PPM like drying the sample would. If we all use EC we all speak the same language.

Compared to what? They do pretty good but you can't compare them to a normal strain that will get WAY bigger if you let it. I would highly recomend these types of plants for people with limited space, or if your growing with cfls they would be perfect because there short and stalky so you don't have to spread the light as much... That can be a real pita!

Ok cool, I don't feel so retarted now lol... The Us reading in semens was confusing the shit out of me lol. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction though, I would have had no clue!! This thing is very nice for the price too, very impressed. I'm going to grab a new ph pen from the same company soon. Now I can pick your brain on nutes lmao!! How high are you with your ladies right now with the tap? Or do you run RO?

I like to max out around 2.3-2.4 at the most with tap water so the feed level is really 1.9-2.0. This canna schedule goes a bit lighter than the H&G so it's top is week 3 at 2.1EC. Normally when your going above 2EC it is with reduced base nutes (1.2EC) and a PK booster like Shooting Powder or Canna's PK13/14 is accounting for the rest of the EC. Plant's cant handle high levels of N very well but P and K are much more forgiving

Do you like using PK boosters? I'm just running the floraNova Bloom now do you think it would help if I added some type of PK booster? There 3 weeks today. thanks bro, more rep when I can !:joint:

Yeah I like them. Started out using Ionics Boost with their line when I started growing. It's not something u want to run the whole time, but when they are really fattening up around weeks 4-5-6 I like using something to help makeup all the PK they are eating. Now that I'm using canna I'm using their PK13/14 but their are many others like H&G shooting powder, hydroplex by botanicare....you get the idea. I prefer a booster that has slightly more K then P tho, just because the high P boosters were typically designed for soil where P is rapidly leached by rain.

Nice, I've always wondered what you used.. I read the labels on all of them lol.. They all seem similar, I'm thinking of giving one a try. Canna actually has the cheapest bottle on ebay but I know my local hydro store is having pretty good sales. My bigger girls are just hitting week 4 so I need to get on it soon :) I'll probably do either the canna 13/14 or the ionics boost. How did you like the ionics btw?

I went ahead and tested my runoff of my OG 18 today when I watered her with 1.55 ec FoxFarms nutes. "Still using up some FF nutes before fully switching over to floranova." The runoff was at 2.56. I've been feeding on the lighter side and not flushing or "leeching" but maybe every 2-3 weeks. Does this seem ok, ph says around 6.8 runoff with my cheapo ph meter. Figured I'd probably run a good amount of fresh water through her next watering..

Also my little dro girl is in flowering, .75 ec, should I bump her up a little? Shes at about 8 nodes now I think! thanks in advance!

Bit high on on the soil i'd say and a bit low on the hydro. I'd bump the dwc to around 1.0 EC. you won't need much higher than 1.8 probably though, dwc likes a weaker nute strength. I follow cannas 'light' feed schedule in my farms...so far so good. Regular strength in my tables.

I picked up some Flora Nova today and fed the blackberrys and they seemed to love it! I flushed the Quzar and VK with regular water because threre at 3 weeks No more flushing for those girls until the last day or 2 of her life F that flushing lie, "at least with soil anyway!" Unless I need to of course!
Smelly, WOW, your busy cuz  I love all the stuff you got, and 2 elbows e'ry 2 months is some goal! You'll get there :D Look up JigFresh's hydro setup if you havent seen it yet :weed: It is truly inspriring, and can be small scaled if need be ;)
For what its worth I have real good success with flushing every week. I do my hydro girls like this and my soil. I only have 9 ounce cups and 2 quarts for MOM, but they can get salt build up too. I pour about half a gallon through each cup, then put 'em in the rez 3-4 hours later.
When you do your clones naked like that you can put them right in the net pot with very little medium. The stems/roots will fill it in pretty good, you just have to prop it up and cover the hole to protect from intense light :D
Good info on the meters too. I need to pick up some calibration solution and calibrate. Thanks smelly and someguy

yo! i just read you're about to grow sensi star.... INTENSE BUD DUDE!!! i grew it with CFLs last year and not only was it super easy to grow, it smelt amazing. however, my friend grew it under 400w and it is probably one of the finest buds i've ever smoked. nothing beats fresh, icy, perfectly cured nugs right out of the jar.

Thanks bro I'm tryin :) Yea I've seen Jigs setup, pretty dope! As far as your flushing suggestions GOOD IDEA! I'll explain more lower lol.

thanks homie, yea I'm saving them just for that reason ;) Can't wait to try some multi strain hash!!

So I'm going camping this weekend and I just so happend to check my runoff EC because I haven't been flushing often at all..... Anywhere from 3-5 ec! OH MY!! I'm glad I checked this before I left, I had to flush everything which made it nearly impossible with the scrogg seeing my dumb ass didn't plan for that... Anyway I was able to get all the runoff ec under 2.5 for now, I'm going to let everything dry out "I'm only gone 2 nights." Then when I get back I'll decide what to do but if you guys have any suggestions on checking EC or even ppm on runoff soil lmk what your thoughts are. SG I know your in hydro but what are your thoughts on this, obviously asking for lockout so I flushed! RIGHT? Anyway everything is looking perfectly normal thats why I was confused? Where the soil particles throwing the EC off? Also My 5 gallon bucket is on the ground with no possible way to move it up so I will have to soak all the towel I have for now, F$#% The grow has been pretty smooth until now, I'm just glad I got that meter and checked it before it really started to do damage! Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance peace!

I'm definitely going waterfarm after my next soil grow finishes up!!!
