Ok guys so I got a question for ya. So if you have seen any of my latest post you will see that I had a hermie pop up. The buds were so dense that I didnt even notice this was happening until harvest. I thought it was contained to just that girl but I looked at the last plant that needed harvested today and I see 2 pollen sacs or what I believe is pollen sacs. Im not really worried about the sac at this time getting ready to take her down now. My question is do I need to clean the room down because the pollen could still be floating around and latch onto my next grow or what are my options. Could the pollen go into the next grow etc.

I personally would have to think that a good scrub down is in order simply from this angle... are you willing to risk your next grow to avoid the elbow grease/cost/hassle?

It's a pia for sure. I just recently put stuff back into a area that had spider mites previously... but it sat empty for several months before re-using it... that and I vacated everything and did a floor scrub with bleach water - but didn't go so far as to wipe down walls, remove the window covering (foam board) and clean behind it, etc... Hope this doesn't bite me in the ass...

If you're up to the task... Given that polllen could linger on your gear, walls, floors... I'd say get to scrubbing... At least with mites I was hoping they'd move along looking for food elsewhere during the time the room was idle and far from their ideal conditions...

A basic clean will do. A basic clean for me is a vacuuming up any debris, then hot water mixed with bleach at 1/2 cup per gallon and wipe down the ceiling, walls then floor. Any pollen caught up in the carbon exhaust prefilter will have died off, but not a bad idea to mist the prefilter with water. Indoors unlike outdoors, pollen cannot live long, especially weak herm pollen. Just try and catch the herm earlier next time, maybe figure out why it hermed in the first place. Sometimes it is just genetics and odds, but most of the time it's a light leak or too much stress from pruning or heat.

Thanks guys. I was really leaning towards a vac and scrub down. As far as why pretty sure it was just genetics..... there were different strains and plants in the room that didnt herm or have seed in the bud but two of the 8 did and happened to be the same gear and strain. Vac and wipe down it is!!!
