I use the same system and clean everything after each cycle.
1. Hydroton Cleaning: I constructed a 3.5'X2' wood frame and fitted one side of the frame with chicken wire fencing. Make sure the fence squares are smaller than the hydroton. I used 2X8 sized wood to make the frame so I would have a deep area to wash in. I then fill the thing half full with hydroton and use a hose with a spray nozzle to flush. All of the roots fall through the screen. Then I poor a premixed sanitizer (cap full of bleach in 5gal water jug) over the rocks. Then I flush throughly with water to rinse all the bleach away.

2. Clean Everything: To help reduce the potential for problems with the next grow you should clean everything. I use the same mixture of bleach and water as I do the hydroton. Always make sure to rinse the bleach away. To clean the tubing, I slide it over a round corner to break loose any stuck nutrients and salts from the sides inside. Then I run hot water through to flush the salts away, poor a little sanitizer through and flush again.

3. Same as above: Clean everything to reduce potential problems. For cleaning my grow area I don't use bleach. Instead I use a no rinse floor wash from the store that kills bacteria and fungus. This way I don't have to go back over with water to rinse, you can just leave it to air dry.

I agree with the above post, the only dif is I place my hydroton in the bath and run the shower over them for a while with an organic bleach.

I plug up the sink fill it with hot water and a little bleach and fill it half way with hydroton, the roots usually float to the top. No easy way to do it that I've found.

I just grew some Big Bang and it came out better than I expected. Great smoke and I yielded about 4oz off each plant. Careful with the nutes, very nute sensitive.
