Investing in clean green energy can be tricky, especially battery technology, Lithium Sulphur batteries could blow solid state out of the water, or the technologies could be combined, plus there are many other electrochemistry's and approaches being developed. Geothermal power using new drilling technology could also blow wind and solar away, if current experiments work out. Things are in a state of flux and new very promising technologies are emerging and many will find their niche in the future. One thing is for certain, most cars, trucks and trains will be electric and so will much small scale private aviation. The power grid will be much more robust with backup and peeking done with batteries, it will also power trucks charging batteries on the roads using pantographs and your car topping up at home.

In American EV sales were 4%, in 2021, however in Norway they will soon be 80%. As battery capacity increases, charging times and costs will decrease and if you have 2 cars in the family, one will soon probably be electric. All the major car companies have plans the cease ICE car production or reduce it a lot, so you will have trouble finding a new one in 10 years and the choices will decrease by about 5 years in NA, Europe will have much higher and complete uptake of EVs, considering the cost of gas there and the distances involved.

Temps in Kansas,Oklahoma and Texas are forecast to see highs of 115F to 120F this week.
As long as it triggers the libs they will roast in Hell, besides it's all Biden's fault and only Trump can solve it. Keep electing idiots and keep roasting, it's not like these people don't have a history of fucking themselves for a fuzzyheaded greater cause. They don't believe in no stinkin climate change fake news and will fight against it to the death.

Im not a climate denier but its 98 looking like a day reaching 100. Pretty common in Arizona no airports closed. What kind of asphalt melts in 100 degree weather It comes off the truck at 500*

It gets pretty soft when it's hot, the air might be 100, but what is the asphalt temp? You can add plastic bottle waste to it and that firms it up quite a bit, but there is a surprisingly small amount of asphalt in the mix. Having cargo transports going to Poland constantly running munitions for Ukraine might be hard on runways, since they take quite a pounding with landings. It might be for the sake of the runway and not so much safety. It protects the concrete underneath and the loads are many tons, multiplied by the speed of the impacts.

Refineries produce several types of asphalt. Europeans haven’t needed a grade speced for, say, North Africa., until lately.

also, five hundred degrees is moo plop.

I dont know much about the topic, but there are stories every year about roads warping and such from heat, I would assume runways are similar.

Per my cursory Google, it has something to do with how they construct it, how many layers of whatever different stuff are used and in what order. So different states/countries/etc will build stuff using different criteria. Roads that handle heat well might shit the bed if they have to have daily freeze/thaw cycles.

Edit: it's the uk, they were probably drunk.

Heat Wave Melts Runway At London Airport
18,210 views Jul 18, 2022 “It is so hot in the U.K. that all flights into Luton Airport had to be diverted when the tarmac actually melted,” says Chris Hayes. “The heat is here right now, not in the future.”

The Texas drought along with high fuel and fertilizer prices is putting ranchers out of business, with sky high hay prices and grazing land dried up they are selling their cattle. I saw a video of a line of trucks with cattle trailors 3 miles long waiting to get into a cattle auction to sell.

They don't need no stinking fake climate change bullshit, Trump tells them the truth! Think they will elect democrats because of their policies on climate change? HA! When facts don't matter people roast, sinners go to Hell and are burned there after all.

I do understand Abbott is in trouble at the polls and Beto could be governor with perhaps a democratic state house.
