It seems to me that the bloke that posted it must be a miserable sod.
It appears he has no faith in the ability of the inhabitants of this orbiting rock to survive the cataclysmic events that are wreaking havoc around the globe now.
Just minor setbacks me thinks.
Here in Ireland the weather is grand.
It doesn't rain near as much as it used too & warm sunny days are the norm now.
It used to be cold and wet, but no more thank God!
It seems to this bog man from the West of Ireland that there's no real worry about a few floods and droughts and fires and hurricanes
Much ado about some minor devastation.

This my home in Galway and I know it needs a little work, but in the spring, I'll just throw some more seed up on the roof and it'll be fine (no more leaks)
All I'll need then is some more sheep, electricity, a colleen to call me own and the Internet, then a subscription to Amazon Prime and Netflix and a few more sheep and I'll be all set.

In round numbers, the first generically successful modern humans left Africa about 75K years ago. (The Toba event helps us date everything older than 74K, and folks had made it about 1000 miles by the time of eruption) At least one group made it to modern day Israel 180K years ago, but they did make it in the long run. But some would say that is close enough to Africa not to count for much.

that sucks; this has been a problem with Kia/Hyundai for some time - I believe a couple of state AGs are considering legal action due to the increase in crime this MASSIVE oversight has caused; producing a vehicle in this day and age without an immobilizer is as much an oversight as not including a USB port.

probably the worst time to buy a used car as most have held their value extremely well due to the supply shortages; not the best time to purchase new, either, but at least you don't have to worry about how well the previous owner maintained the vehicle

actually all year has been a great time to buy new if you consider the cost of used vehicles being identical to new or just barely below msrp. I’ve been through 3 this year every time with more than it cost in value as a trade in
I went from a Taco to a 2023 Subaru crosstrek Limited last month and holy shit am I in love. It’s been a pleasure to drive and for the price it’s extremely well rounded/feature loaded

lol... sure, if comparing current new prices vs current used prices a new vehicle could seem like a deal - if you can find what you want, and if the dealer hasn't added a 'market adjustment,' which can push the cost far beyond MSRP.
I just took a peak at a few Ford dealers - the MSRP+$15k for a 2022 Raptor isn't too unusual (they were going for MSRP+$5k when I took a hard look at them in 2019), but the $15k-$20k over MSRP on a Ford Maverick seems a bit excessive.

'unprecedented' would be the polite way to describe it, though 'fucking insane!' is probably more accurate...
in the last year I have seen multiple instances of 2-3 year old Toyota Tacomas selling at $3k-$4k over MSRP - and then appreciating $2k-$3k in value over the following few months until they were totaled.
and there's this:
Three-year-old vehicles sold for 74 percent of sticker price in the fourth quarter of 2021, according to J.D. Power — far above the previous high of 54 percent sticker set by 3-year-old vehicles in 2011.
what is truly scary is the number of folks financing the purchase of a 15 or 20 year old vehicle...

You shared the worst case example possible (ford MAP markups which made headlines everywhere) in an attempt to dismiss anyone with the means/interest to do so capitalizing on the anomaly that has been the last 18-24 months. Shopping dealers is easy too

I haven't checked in a couple years to see how A plan discounts with Ford are, but you got me curious.
where are you buying that its below msrp everything here is 6k+ MSRP where i live.
i dont have a choice i have to buy i have a child i need to get to and from school there is no bus service due to a lack of bus drivers and than i have to pcs cross country in a few months too
