Clone drama..

(: Interesting... I find it interesting that you can't grow cannabis in sand, for obvious reasons, yet you can grow it with some sand in your soil mix. But other plants such as bean and peas will grow and produce in sand.
Maybe its just me... Good topic though...

Well I am excited, I made up my own soil mix. I used a recipe I found some where written by gonna girl I think. And two of my three FEMS have popped up to say hi...

I am curious what and or how y'all clone. I have never had any luck, perhaps I'm taking cutting that are to small or its my rooting compound, I don't know. But my girls are hash plant and I think I'd like to try again.

Thank you...
why dont u make ur own thread u idiot

damn and youre on your first grow? no offence but you tryin too give advice is kinda blind leadin the blind. considering you have only been growin for what 2 months?
Experience isn't everything. I've spent countless amounts of time studying and reading books. You take my advice and then ridicule me? You're trying to grow in sand. Its pretty obvious that there are no nutrients in sand. You say theres other plants growing? Well their roots likely reach below the sand.

Ive had 100% success using a king klone aerocloner. No rooting hormones, just tap water. Takes about 10 days.
I searched for a string on root hormone and found this altho it's not the subject, I could use some help. I have 4 plants in flower doing great. I also have 6 plants that were germinated at the same time. Problem is they are only ONE INCH TALL and growing VERY slow!! They were all germinated at the same time. The 6 got root hormone and the 4 in flower didn't because they were germinated in soil. The 6 were germinated in a paper towel so I used root hormone before I planted them in Organic soil mixed with perlite, same as other 4. The only difference is the root hormone. Now you said something here about not using it, why? Also, can root hormone go bad? I have a jar of Shultz Take Root Rooting Hormone (powder) that I've had for years and found it for this first indoor grow. I don't think I've ever used it that I remember. Could that be the problem?

You said the ones thst are growing slow you used root hormone? If thats the case i would toss the stuff. I have no idea of the cause/effect of root hormone as i have never used it. In my aerocloner tap water works just fine. But for germination if your going the paper towel trick i would just put them in a damp paper towel with just tap water.

That's what i did when I germinated. I didn't use the root hormone until the seedlings had a root. Then, I did as directions said and dipped the root in water, then in rooting powder then planted them in the same kind of soil as the 4 that took off without it. After reading the directions again, it's talking about using it with clones. That could be the problem, I put it on roots instead of an established clone cutting. Frankly, I don't see where there's much difference in what you want. Either you're trying to grow a root or you're trying to give your root a hormone to get it going. I don't know if there's a different rooting powder for each situation.

I think the root hormone is to stimulate root growth. I have no idea as to the effect of putting it on actual roots, but i do believe its supposed to go on the cutting to promote root growth. Honestly id prefer to stay away from it. Tap water works just fine.

I guess it's a matter of personal preference. A lot of discussions here and youtube say to dip seedling roots in root tone before planting. I figure this is the only difference and has to be the problem. However, i planted the 4 that are doing well in the same soil that I had germinated them in. Must have been some powerful soil (came with germination kit) but, then again, after a month, considering that the other 6 are so small, it's GOT to be the root stuff. Because I planted the 6 little ones in the same soil and they barely grew. Maybe once they get over the shock (they look good for little ones), they will eventually take off as well. It's kind of a God thing, because had the 6 also done well, I would have outgrown my grow space. As it stands, I have just enough room for the 4 that are in flower and 6 in veg. (I take the 4 in flower out of the grow room after 12 hours and put them in the dark for 12, leaving the little ones on 18/6. I uploaded a photo that I took of a plant and it also shows the little ones. Look at the difference and were germinated the same day. How can this be?

Isn't it? Since I have so many, and i really only need 2-3 because of my grow space, I started experimenting on them Memorial Day weekend. I've done this and that with the soil and write down what I do for each plant, including nothing on one. Once one of them shows significant growth suddenly, I will take the soil out of the other 5 and do them the same way. But I can't believe how much difference there is in size- that's crazy. I keep thinking the little ones will all of sudden take off but, then, if they do, then what? I haven't got the room after I lost the house I use to grow the outside ones at. This is my first indoor grow and I didn't know-I'm like WTF?
