Clone from seed to bud in 12/12 (not auto flower)

Can I take a clone from a plant that is not an auto flower and has been in 12/12 light from seed because of the micro grow constraints. And can that clone be left in 12/12 environment or does it need to veg outside of it first. Basically want to know if perpet grow setup can be done with one grow tent without auto flowers

Ehh. You need to fully get the clone to veg in order to get it to produce. Plus, the few weeks to root, etc. Get smaller area going for cloning/mother plant

Thanks. The thought was to have 1 gallon DWC setup with seeds that would go into a 12/12 from the beginning and then top them at 3 or 4 weeks before they start to flower. Put the clipping in 32 oz mason jar DWC right next to them and let it root and veg while mom blooms. Then when I harvest mom move the net pot out of the mason jar and onto the one gallon bucket. I’ve seen this done with autos but not with regular seeds in 12/12 light setting.

I use a perpetual style….. cut clones off mom til she outgrows the 4x4 tent space she’s allowed. Have a cloner in her own tent for clones. Then, all clones go to 4x4. It’s divided into two levels. Moms stay on top, new clones on bottom. Cycle moms/ clones as needed. Gives plenty of room to pheno hunt while holding stable genetics to ensure you’re always cropping something out. Have 3 to 5 strains going as of now. Hunting new crosses from Maine

Sounds like I definitely need to separate spaces and rely on two lights for successful perpetual grow. Thanks for the advice. I was hoping I could get away with one space with 12/12 light for the whole cycle since I need short plants anyways because if height limit.

Good question... Seeds have a veg period when started in 12-12 whether a cut taking during that period would continue in veg idk.. i don't think so but maybe?

Considering the work required to yield? Why not wait two weeks in a 2x4 area. They root in solo cups then go to 3 gals. Wait a week or two then flip! I always go for 6 6 6. The metal head in me. 6 finishing, 6 mid, mid in transition. Always got something to work on!

The idea was to combine with sog so I would have a plant every 7 inches with the buckets. Not a lot of room for branches. The limiting factor is the 48 inch ceiling height on the tent. Light would have 6” down and I lose 7 inches from bucket height. That leaves only 23” for the plant if you want an air gap of a foot between it ant the light.

plus I don’t want to spend all the time shaping and branching the plants. One main branch every 7” adds up quick. With small plants like that once a week is all I would need to switch out nutrient buckets and wash the used ones. Finally I can legally have a 4oz supply in my state with my medical license. So one big yield wouldn’t be an option. The idea is to have my yield come in at the rate I am allowed to have so I have a small 20”x20” tent. Enough for 5 1 gallon buckets and 5 32 oz mason jars and the tiny 1 gallon aquarium air pumps that supply them.

Since putting a clone in 12/12 wouldn’t let it veg enough to make perpetual I have to go back to the drawing board and find a different space to propagate clippings and veg them before I move them into what is now the bloom tent.

Yeah. That limiting factor is going to be that space. Hopefully you’ll be able to swing something my friend. Remember there is no “wrong way”:weed: keep on growing and learning my friend. I’ve been on and off for many years, gone thru tents to warehouses. Find a system that works for you. If you use something solula le like Aurora Terp tea line, you won’t need any different buckets for mixing shit. Keep to organic. Using bottles the whole way is A, a HUGE waste of money, and B much more work IMO.

Consider a 4x4 tent with a 8 ft ceiling. Then divide it in half.
