Clone lighting question

hey guys & gals I have a ? About cloning? If I put my clone box in the corner of my veg room will the 400w hid b good enough or do I need to use some type of flouresent for them in the veg room? I'm not putting them directly under the 400 they will b in a corner far away from the light. Any help would be appreciated.

i had trouble getting mine to root under the 400 hid

A fluorescent would be better suited to their needs.

I hear that too intense of light makes root production slow so that makes sence why I had a problem

That's been my problem I think. Usually I use flouresent but I had to put them in my veg room due to cold temps recently and I'm not having very good success. I have always cloned into soil and have done pretty well but idk what it is with the 400w but they just aren't rooting. Any thoughts?

This might help... Try blocking out some light with a piece of cardboard to create some shade for the clone. If it roots then the light intensity was the issue, if it still doesn't root then it has to be something else. Simple but potentially effective

Warming mat and humidity dome.
80%rh 80 degrees,
ambient light from the 400 will be fine.
Keep them moist with a spray bottle 3-4x a day.
I have better luck wo the dome I always just spray them a few times a day and they do fine. Everytime I use a dome they get shocked when I remove it

BOOM - That's it if you live in a really dry place. Otherwise MANY have MUCH success without dome. They like their bums warm though.. Best of luck!
