Clone Questions

i have some healthy clones. i have no vegging mother to clone from. i took them from early budding females of different strains.
my question is, "how many times can i keep cloning these plants? i want to take clones from the clones in a constant perpetual grow cycle.
my clone area is just big enough to keep 9 cuttings growing, i dont have room for a mother plus i want the variety of the different strains going.
so will i be able to keep taking cuttings from cutting for a long time? or will they start to become deformed and useless?
thanks:joint:

The answer to your question has many possibilities or variables, but let me see if I can address the major ones for you. Yes you can take clone from clone from clone untill you see some genetic drift. I use this method personally and do until I tire of a strain due to space and time limits. I would reccommend that in doing this you stay away from taking the cuttings in flower, they just never seem to hold up as well. Whether it is true or not but I think that genetics of the plant will play apart in this but always start with the best you can in the beginning. Remember that your clones will retain the age of the orginal mother genetically but this shouldn't prove to be a problem for many many years. One last thing which may or may not be important to you but always take your cuttings from the dominate side of the plant. If you look closely you will notice that each set of nodes has a side which is a bit bigger than the other, for best results take the bigger side.
Best of luck to you

I got some atf that has been kept alive for over 10 years. I got some clones last year off of a flowering plant and have been taking clones from clones just like the guy I got the clones from. As far as taking clones from flowering plants. I have taken them from the lower branches many times. Takes a bit to catch up and they grow a little wierd kinda bushy but the buds the same.

you can clone as many times as you want. each generation they say gets a bit weaker though but it takes a while before it's noticeable. its like making a copy of something. when you make a copy of a copy of a cop etc, the latest one just wont look as good due to artifacts and such. the same is true for plants with their genetic code.
