Clone with 3 finger leaves

I just recently cloned out a few strains and potted up in to coco. I noticed on a few of the clones they went from 5 leaf points to 3 leaf points. Only on three of the clones.

Marshmallow OG
Super Lemon Smac
Sour Diesel

About a week ago my timer was off and gave them 8 hours of dark by accident. I switched it back up to 20 hrs of lights on. Could this have stressed them out and caused them to throw 3 finger leaves or could it have been from cloning and transplanting??
I will be keeping an eye on leaf finger count progressing forward.

When you top a plant you mess with its hormones, yes? ...these tips are important and if you cut at a certain time you catch that branch in a phase of development and it just stays like that cuz it cant get new signaling enzymes/hormones from the plant it used to be attached to.

I've had it happen from fucking with light cycles. I also flowered a couple like that and they only threw 3, 2, and 1 finger leaves until they were done. Clones off said plants went on to have 5 and 7 fingers. I wouldn't worry about it.

The branch I topped had multiple sets of 5 and 7 finger leaves on it though.
This is on new growth. A few leaf sets up from the original clone

So they never reverted back to throwing 5 and 7 fingers on the original plant??

Correct. I believe it's because I flowered them like that. For those they had 5s and 7s on the lower leaves from before I my light cycle fuckery. 3s, 2s, 1s on the newer growth through flowering.

The clones had 3s on the lowers then 5s and 7s higher up as they grew with consistent lighting.

From what I can tell, flowering them like that makes it stay or worsen. If I remember correctly, they saw something like 24/0 with weak lights, then 18/6 with strong lights, then 24/0 with strong lights, then outside with ~11/13 within maybe 3 or 4 weeks. I'm guessing if I gave them consistent lighting for a while they would've bounced back. I needed them outside, though.

I also don't think it affected the end product negatively all that much, if at all. Makes for neat pictures. The size of the fingers were all over the place, too.
