just wondering when people take clones off plants, are the clones slightly inferior to the ''original'', or do they produce just as good yield and potency, sometimes better???

just wondered what peoples thoughts on this are

a clone is an exact genetic replica. ITS THE SAME THING AS THE DONOR PLANT - no differences.

over time ( long long long time) genetic drift is a possibility, but thats gona take a long long loong time to occur.

I have been cloning plants for 2 years with no loss of vigor, yeild, no change in potency or aroma...

thats my 2 cents....

Some strains of wine grapes have been cloned for over 2000 years. Don't let anyone tell you clones are degraded in some way.

i know this isn't really appropriate, but i didn't know where else to go..... i was arrested and charged with possession of paraphernalia in a tiny little hick town.. i have paperwork to prove all of it if anyone doesn't believe me.... and i've got fines and court fees, around 1200$$ , and if i dont pay them i'm oging to have to go back to jail... i'm nineteen, stuck in this town, no car, no job, and even thoughn i'm allowed to live at home, my mom is against smoking and says "did the crime ,do the time"" and.. i just don't know where else to turn. i am posting everywhere.. i just don't know what else to do. private message me?

Genetic drift usually only hapens if you clone a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone f a clone of a clone.... It usually won't happen if you keep one mother and only replace it with a plant grown from seed instead if a clone of herself.

Umm, replacing a mum with a plant grown from seed defeats the purpose of keeping mums for cloning.
As soon as you introduce seeds, you have introduced genetic variability. Asexual reproduction (cloning) is completely done via mitosis. Reproduction with seeds involves meiosis, creating a different genotype than the parent stock.
Mutations occurring during mitosis is also quite rare, especially when compared to meiosis. Clones of clones will still be genetically identical to the parent stock. Genetic drift has nothing to do with mutations but is a normal consequence of sexual reproduction.

i take 30-40 cuts off my moms in 5 & 7g pots and they get are fine. I have been growing this particular set of moms for about 6months....
when i take cuts its just basically like giving the plant a haircut. I give them haircuts every 2-4 weeks. NO PROBS.
ALWAYS USE STERILE BLADES

clones can be taken for years and years from the same plant, they are an exact copy of the parent plant in every way.as long as the mother plant stays healthy it will produce babies exactly like the very 1st clone ever taken(your grandchildren could very well be smoking the exact same plant u enjoy now) :)
