Clones from mid-bloom - remove pistils??

Just as the title says...
If u take a clone during the bloom phase, and it has some pistils, should i remove them?

For some reason i thought i remembered reading somewhere that said to remove the pistils from the clone if its taken during bloom.. Or it might've been referring to the little hair-like things on the internode. But either way, should i remove those? Would it help it to revert back to veg quicker? Or will it have any negative affect? (or any affect at all for that matter)??

you don't have to remove the pistils. you may be remembering something about ripping a hair or stem from the bottom node down. this opens the stem up to root better. i have cut off flowers in half to clone from bloom, but i wouldn't bother worrying about individual pistils. either way cloning from blooming plants will take longer, with less supposed success rate (although i've done alright). good luck!

Maybe if there was risk of fertilizing them? I haven't bothered doing this (then again I don't keep males around). Hairs and pistils are the same thing.

Well either way, if youre trying to revert the clone back to veg anyway, wouldnt it be good to remove them?
What happens to them if you dont? do they just die off, or do they contribute somehow to the transition back to veg?

anytime ive seen someone clone from a budding plant they cut off the buds. i plan on cutting the buds off when i clone my flowering querkle.

True...I did clip off the lil buds on my clones but not just a pistil or two on the others...mainly cos I wanted to smoke em!
I don't see how removing the pistils could hurt though. So if it concerns/annoys you go for it.
And yes, in veg they will eventually redden and dry up...no biggie.

Do u guys think a clone taken from bloom would turn out to be a less healthy adult plant, or have problems like higher herm rate or anything else?

From what I've read on it, and through some personal experience, I doubt there's a "higher herm rate" or anything. I cloned a week before harvesting and it went fine (although they all went to the graveyard 3wks later when I decided the strain was rubbish).

I recently read an article with pics that showed plants started from clones from flowering plants.
They were so thickly branched, it was something many of us will never see. Hundreds of close branches everywhere. Would make a great mother or super producer. According to the article it is a practiced cloning method for many.

I took 12 clones barely before harvest.its my 1st time.now 8 days later, they still look good. Some i removed buds, didnt remove buds, cut fan leaves &so on.i thot they would start die off(a couple) but they all seem well.i even have 1 soaking in water&its starting to root.i hope all the others are too!

Yeah, I'm with Kottonmouth. I took clones off a Calizahr that I had which was at least 3 weeks into flowering. Those clones went back to veg for about 8 weeks and now they are flowering fine again. I have also taken clones off these clones and they are fine. I wouldnt bother doing anything to them. They always seem to have some retarded leaf growth goin back to veg though. Don't freak out man as they come back. I had 1 clone which looked like it had bay leaves hanging off it lol :D
